Up to 550 HP I use good quality stock replacement clutches and steels. TransStar puts out a decent kit. More than 550 hp I upgrade the clutch plates to either Borg blue plates or Red Eagles and use koleen coated steels. Red Eagle linings on the bands too. Not sure if you'll find a complete kit with them but Andrews racing, Rick Allison's A&A, and Cope Racing Trans. are places I'd look. You also need a bolt in sprague, reinforced front band strut, billet rear servo, and either a manual valve body or a Trans-go shift improver kit for yours. If you use a manual valve body make sure and use the front band apply lever it calls for. If you use the Trans-go kit (or any other kit for that matter) do not use a 5.0 kickdown lever. Use a 3.8 or 4.2 lever. For the level your pushing it too figure on replacing any normal wear item such as the belleville spring and cushion spacer (make sure and use a steel cushion spacer, not the plastic one the later trans. used), all thrust washers, bushings, and a set of HD pump gears. You'll need an assorment of selective snap rings to set the clutch plate clearances and shims for the rear gear train to tighten it up. If you don't already have it buy this book. It has a ton of great info on 727's. I set my clutch plate clearanses slightly loser than he recommends but that's it.
