I've seen 3 small blocks now with some type of sealant or "goop" around the rear cam plug. Is it a common problem for leaks? My 360 had it all the way around the plug. Just curious.

I always put a light coat of ultra copper around the edge of the plug.......I use Permatex #2 on frost plugs for street motor / put away wet deals.
That's how I was taught and I have never had a problem.

There are very few places where I prefer the #2 hard setting Permatex. The steel knock in plugs is one of them.
I remember dropping the kids off in front of the school and saying, "Have a great day. Don't sniff the #2 pencils". So..
You guys have a great day. Don't sniff the #2 Permatex. :)

yep that is a place that will always get alitle sealant just to make sure, since its a very hard to reach and see spot once the engine is in the car

Hell, on them welch plugs like in the early Hemi, all the early Hemi guys use JB Weld and swear by it. lol
