Ha was over a friend's house
His ford had a small under hood fire think it was the fuel line to the carb leaked
Rewired the engine
Checked for spark
Woof up I. flames again
Lucky i just put it out with a rag
I guess there was still gas on the intake
Yeah in Ford's infinite wisdom, they routed the fuel line right over the distributor. Lots of them have gone up in flames.

It was so funny cause new fuel line
Distributor
Wiring spent a couple of hrs on it
And I heard Click Click then woof from in the car ...

In 77 or so my wife had a bulls eye in the windshield or her 72 Duster. Soon it evolved into a crack about 2 feet long and would no longer pass inspection. On the following Saturday I headed to the salvage yard and picked up a good windshield for $30. When I got home I removed the cracked windshield and got the new one in. After lunch I took some paper towels and Windex out and cleaned the outside then the inside. I was almost done when a crack started up by the mirror and shot down across the drivers side at warp speed. I got out and threw the windex and towels across the driveway and slammed the drivers door shattering the window glass and filling the front seat with little shards of glass and my own stupidity. Just one of a few stories I could tell.

Ha
So had a 67 beetle
Would take it off roading all the time
Basically stock but big tires and snows on the rear
We were out in the fields....may have had beer involved
Was telling my friend how in my dart on dirt roads to do a 360 you get into a power slide then just flip the wheel the other way and you can spin it around
Did that , snap rolled it back onto the wheels
Stuff all over the field...hooked the battery up and drove it home and for another 3 months after....
Told him that's the other way to do a 360

Mine is (unfortunately) a bit more recent. Almost a year snd a half ago, I started my first retirement project - restomod of a 74 Duster. Someone started working on it, then swapped it to the guy I bought it from. Most of the metal work done, new Dana 60 rear, disc brakes all around. My first A body and I dove right into it. Fenders were off it, but there were more parts an I needed! Sanded off surface rust, prepped an undercoated the underside and sent it to paint. I spent hours patch cracks and a tab on the grill because I was having the grill, headlight bezels and bumper sprayed black. They turned out beautiful. Posted some pictures updating my project and a FABO member pointed out that I have a 72 hood. Pardon me?
It seems the previous owner was setting up the front end to as a 72. They included front end pieces to a 72 and a 74 with my purchase. I ASSumed the 72 set was just a bonus. Now I have a beautiful semi gloss black 74 front section on a storage rack and I am spending hours patching and cleaning the 72 grill...
