I have '73 dart sport that I am looking to put wheels and tires on, would like suggestions on tire sizes, do not mind staggering. I have air shocks in the rear. I also would like to put a torque thrust chrome 15" wheel on,can some tell me what offset to use.

I think your goals for the car would be the best place to start.

I'll follow up with saying that if you're sticking with 15" wheels, you're going to keep coming up with BFG Radial T/A as one of the few options for you. Fortunately, they're OK (considering that they're All-Seasons), they look good, come in a broad variety of sizes.

They aren't high performance tires by modern standards...not by a long shot.

Folks say that Duster/Dart Sport/Demons can take 275/60/15s with 4.5" backspacing on the stock axle.

I've yet to do this myself as I'm still shopping for a replacement rear axle and I might end up with dimensions other than stock.

Rear rims are 15 x 8 with 4.5 backspace and a 5/16 spacer 275/60/15. Fronts are 225/70/14. I did trim the lips a little on the rear wheel wells. Stock springs no lift aids.

Using torque thrust 2 : front part # ARE-5055765 , 15*7 bs3.75 , tire size 235/60/15 : they are a little to wide. Go with a smaller rim and tire if it was me. Rear rim part #ARE-5055865 , 15*8 bs 3.75 , tire size 275/60/15. Good fit. No mods on either suspension or panels. Rear has air shocks. Rims bought from summit.

I'm also running 275-60-15's with an 8" rim & 4.5" back spacing. The only mod that I did was put a 1/2" spacer in front of the front spring mount to center the wheel in the well.
As MRGTX stated the BFG's are by no means a performance tire but if you're just looking for a good street tire you really cant beat them for the money. They're quiet on the road and not too awful in the rain.

Thanks for all the help will post when wheel and tires get on

So you ordered wheels and tires already?
If so what did you get?

I run Cooper Cobras 225/70 R14 on 14x7 4" BS on the front and 275/60 R15 on 15x8 4.25" BS in the rear with Espo +1" in the stock location. I have 3/8" clearance to the springs. Rears rub a little on angled driveways. If I did it over I would use +2" springs, a 3/4" offset shackle and 215's on the front.

What size are your front rims and tires?

Put 15 x 7 (4¼" BS) Magnum 500s on the /6 mordor. Tires are 205/60-15s. No problems with clearance. This car has disks which widens out the front track about 1½". Car rode & drove nice. You didn't say if your car had drum brakes (SBP) or disk brakes (LBP). Makes a huge difference in terms of wheel selection.

what kind of wheels do you have on yours ? and what is the bp

Just for reference, in case you're not stuck on 15" wheels, here is my 73 Sport with 17x8 Vision Legend wheels, 5 1/4 BS. 255x45 and 245x45 tires. 1/2 inch spring relocation kit on the rear. I ended up adding a 3/4 inch spacer to the rear to get the tires centered in the wheel well.
