Well the boys did a 65 Coronet today and I got a chuckle out of them. It was a decent CA car but what made me laugh was they put the aftermarket gauges in the glove box. So they were flying down the highway after they were done and getting ready to sell the car. Check out the Voltmeter! Maybe not everything fixed! LOL
I almost never watch this sort of thing, and putting gauges in the glove box is a hellofagood example of "why not." In this day and age of "distracted driving" can you imagine explaining why, to a cop, that the reason you seemed to be driving erratically was that you were "checking your engine gauges?"
Had a Turqouis 65 500 and loved that car . Dropped a 440 with a 284/484 cam , headers , TM7 intake and 3.91s in it . Ran 12s .
Giant gauges in an area you can’t see from drivers seat. Pretty “cheeky “ to me for sure. Anything to sell parts.
Vortex of stupidity. I'll bet if you check their medicine cabinet you won't be surprised what's in there.
This was not, NOT, a car that Wheeler Dealers should have undertaken. I like the show but this.......? Something like the episode with the Travelall.
Those Brits are different!! But it is Hollywood and cheap (sorta) entertainment. I have to admit WHY would anyone puts gauges in the glove box! ha
shoulda just put the gauges in the trunk then just pull over and check on them...hmm all good here... hahahaha
Brits are dislexic, but I not Brit and I am too!! Ever seen someone put an engine back together upside down and ass backwards!!????
A friend of mine put oil pressure and water temp gages under his dash on a small hinge, with a tab to hold them in place up or down. This way at shows he could keep em flipped up and hidden, but driving he had em flipped down.
That car actually looked like a hell of a lot of fun for the price. I would have rocked that thing. The gauges were mounted right in the center of the dash and looked hokey so the guy removed them and put the correct trim there and just moved them to the glove box so they could at least be somewhat usable without ruining the classic look of the dash.
With Technology today- why not blue tooth sensors sent directly to your phone. A simple phone cradle and your done. No extra wires or drilled holes. Sorry OP- side tracked. Back to Wheeler Dealers thread. Lol!
