I'm gonna ring his freakin neck. Back in May I bumped into the back of an suv with my ferd escort. Blew out radiator, ac condenser, headlights and supports, bumper cover and bent hood. Fixed most of that. No damage to suv they had a big trailer hitch. Two weeks later blew out rear brake lines. Got those fixed. Two weeks later check engine light comes on, I need a new fuel filler neck. Haven't done that yet. Last week on the way to work I hit a bump on a crappy road and broke a strut. Waiting for those to come in. So my stepson lets me use his recently deceased grandfathers ferd focus. Picked it up yesterday, today going out to get some tires mounted for the son's dart so we have another car to daily drive and a strut on the focus breaks. WTF Now I'm looking over my shoulder cause Murphy's been following me and I'm gonna catch him. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

most of us can't escape him. such as life. lmao

This is Murphy speaking, note my signature. What was your complaint, again, LOL?

Schmidt's Law: If you mess with something long enough, it will break....

Our Statics and Dynamics professor in college was named Schmidt, a very strict German guy.... "You must be meticulous...."

this would tell me to lay off the ferds for a while if not forever.

Around here when opportunity knocks it's Murphy. I just don't answer anymore.

If anybody is interested in the origin of "Murphy's Law" check this out:

The following article was excerpted from The Desert Wings
March 3, 1978:

Murphy's Law ("If anything can go wrong, it will") was born at Edwards Air Force Base in 1949 at North Base.

It was named after Capt. Edward A. Murphy, an engineer working on Air Force Project MX981, (a project) designed to see how much sudden deceleration a person can stand in a crash.

One day, after finding that a transducer was wired wrong, he cursed the technician responsible and said, "If there is any way to do it wrong, he'll find it."

The contractor's project manager kept a list of "laws" and added this one, which he called Murphy's Law.

Actually, what he did was take an old law that had been around for years in a more basic form and give it a name.

Shortly afterwards, the Air Force doctor (Dr. John Paul Stapp) who rode a sled on the deceleration track to a stop, pulling 40 Gs, gave a press conference. He said that their good safety record on the project was due to a firm belief in Murphy's Law and in the necessity to try and circumvent it. Aerospace manufacturers picked it up and used it widely in their ads during the next few months, and soon it was being quoted in many news and magazine articles. Murphy's Law was born.

I really can't complain about the escort paid around 4k for it with 60k mi. Drove the crap outta it for 70k mi without any expenses except maintenance brakes/tires/oil changes/ a cat converter and an 02 sensor. A lot of 300-600 mile trips and a whole crapload of miles pulling a trailer, sometimes with as much as 1200-1500lbs on it. It's rusting to $hit underneath though.

i just got done with a week with that guy. he's like an estranged cousin that
comes into town every so often to borrow money. but murphy beats you with a
crowbar until he leaves.

I hear ya! Last Saturday I had 3 little furry creatures stroll out in front of my truck. First thought SKUNKS!!! Hammer on brakes, blow brake line. Damnit!!! For the record, they were coons. Still didn't want to hit them, they hurt too. Truck's fixed now, but don't have gas money until Friday, filled up the wife's car Monday.
