Where to get a Torsion bar tool?

Mancini has for $29.95.You can make them cheap too out of u bolts and flat
steal.Still using vice-grips doubled up myself,spent all the money on the car,none left for tools.
 
The vice grips will scar the bars and cause potential problems. The u-bolts will work better and you can reuse the bars without worries.
 
I made mine with 2 pieces of 1/2"x4" flat bar and 4 bolts. Clamp onto the bar and beat with hammer. Cost was time to scrounge and torch up some scrap. Probably $10 in metal and same in gas if I had to but the plate new.
 
i bought mine from Mancini for around $25. the only problem i found with it was sometimes the little bolts break and you have to get some more.
 
WOW. Thought I'd try taking them out first without the tool and they just about fell out. Didn't need it after all. Thanks for all the replies.
