I'm putting this here because this seemed to be as good a place as any.
I've been measuring & re-measuring on my '64 Barracuda to figure out what offset would put a wheel in the center of the rear wheelwell so I could fit the widest tire. I've been doing all of my measuring on the right side because it was the easiest to get to. Today I went to check to see how close it was to the left side. The axle perches are off center on the axle by a small amount. Re-centering the axle would move it about 3/32". But the axle is off center with the body/wheelwells by a lot more. On the right side it is 2 1/16" from the back edge of the brake drum to the inner wheelwell surface. On the left side it is 2 3/4". What do I do now? Start triangulating measurements to see if the body is twisted? Forget about it & just fit what I can like it is? I was planning to offset the springs to gain a bit more room & I could center the axle between the springs when I do that. But what do I do about the other discrepancy? Ideas/opinions?
