which bolt to mount dipstick for trans

Which bolt does the dipstick tube bolt to for the trans dipstick. this is on a 727 and it seems that either the tube wont go in far enough for one hole or is too far out for the next one.

You probably have the wrong tube. The BB, SB, and S6 all use different tubes. 904 and 727 are different too. Most applications use the passenger side upper bolt closest to the lower edge of the cylinder head.
