I'm swaping a 2000 Durango 5.9 Magnum with serpentine belt and factory clutch fan into a 1968 Barracuda that originally had a slant six with the smaller radiator opening.

Can someone confirm that a 1973 a-body small block radiator and fan shroud will fit? I have just over 3 1/3 inches of room from where the radiator flanges mount on the radiator opening to the face of the thermal clutch.

I don't like the look of aluminum radiators in these old cars, don't want to run an electric fan and would like to end up with a factory looking 3 row radiator with the plastic shroud. Any info is appreciated.

I've searched the net for a few weeks now and have yet to find out for sure which radiator and shroud I can run with a factory 2000 Dodge Durango serpentine belt and stock clutch fan set-up. Thanks

Ask this guy, looks custom and expensive:

For my Magnum, I took a tape measure to the junkyard and got the biggest 3 core radiator that would fit between the frame rails. Came out of a 70's dodge truck, although any radiator with the right outlets will do the job.

I got the shroud out of an Aspen or 5th ave, and did a little fab work. Like notching a little here and there, and using sheet metal screws to secure it.

I bet something out of a later Dakota or Jeep would be the cat's meow. Dream something up, save your bucks.

I'd be happy you have the serpentine setup, one of the benefits is it's good for applications with a small engine bay, so you can grab a rad easy enough and not have to worry about depth. :D

Thanks for that link. Even after searching for 5.9 Magnum swaps for months, I never cam across it. That guy really knocked that swap out.

As it turned out. I had almost 4 inches of room not 3 1/3 inches, so that helped. I ended up ordering a radiator from US Radiator, as I am real happy with the one I got from them for my 1970 'Cuda.

With my fingers crossed, I ordered a 22", 4-row, standard core design for a 1973 Dodge Dart with small block, as the outlets are on the top driver's side and the bottom passenger side just like the Magnum motor needs. A hole with fitting comes stock on that year radiator up on the top tank that's for some kind of a smog fitting, but I am having them delete it. I went for the standard core design because air will pass through it eaiser than with their high efficiency or Optima cores. I'm going to have a condensor and transmission cooler out in front of it too.

They do nice work at US Radiator, and the product is very factory looking. I will be using a plastic/ injection molded fan shroud. Once I get everything in, I'll post some pics and identify any problems or fitment issues.
