My 70 (73 steering linkage) duster needs yet another idler arm. I got 1000 miles out of this one!

Who makes the good stuff these days? I think I'd like a bearing converted one this time. Pretty sure the heat from my tti headers is what's killing them.

Id also like to do the pitman and tie rods as they are all 20 years old now, amd showing some looseness. Nothing serious, but enough to justify their replacement and a new alignment.
Again, who's the good ones these days?

If you want a roller bearing idler it’s @BergmanAutoCraft or Firm Feel, that’s it. I have one from Bergman on my Duster, great piece.

Proforged is making decent parts, they’ve got tie rod ends, some pitman arms, lower ball joints etc.

2nd-ed on firmfeel and bergman.

i've been having good luck with the mevotech "supreme" line and proforged stuff. the delco "gold" stuff can be good but it's been hit or miss of late.

Not sure of the car and year:
You do know the idler arm has play up and down - the bolt side not the joint side. Washers go top and bottom inside the tangs. The joint side has squeeze play. But not side to side. 1,000miles seems a bit much to be replacing parts.
What brand did you use and did you install it new?

My recollection is that on pitman arms there are 1 or 2 manufacturers. For the other parts such as ball joints and tie rod ends the mfgs seem to have standard quality and premium quality so the mfg's name by itself doesn't mean anything.
