In the 70's my Dad had a parts store, hooked up with several warehouses, one was sort of "main supplier." They dumped Standard Motor Products / Blue Streak (obviously cost cutting) and took on an ignition / electrical line called "P&D Bendix". Bendix in part Bendix Aviation and Bendix Scintilla (magnetos) I know about. P&D I was told was often called "Piddle and Diddle" So, somehow, some reason, Bedix had merged with P&D.

They---were---crap. Biggest thing I remember was the constant failure of GM window adjust breaker points. Absolute junk. We went to one of the other warehouses and ordered some point sets from them back in Standard/ Blue Streak

One customer with an independent one-man mechanic shop collected a tow bill from us because he'd tuned up a customer's car and the points failed. No one was happy.

So just "who" is/ was P&D and why were they such crap in the 70's? By the way some of their stuff WAS MADE IN MEXICO
