Why the 727 explodes!

My good friend's father-in-law about blew his body up with shrapnel coming through the tunnel his blew up in a 700 horsepower 440 duster on the big end...inertia

Its a shame there are still people out there drag racing and running stock front drum, putting themselves at risk for this to happen. This issue was addressed by the industry many years ago. Once you put a billet front drum in your 727 with bolt in sprag and low band apply valve body, you damn near eliminate the issue.

Today it’s easy to make power and slap it in your car but something Ive seen is guys don’t upgrade the rest of the car for the new power. That’s no upgraded brakes, rear differential, or transmission they just dropped 10k, for a new 500” low deck to replace the 383 so no money left for much else. But then it’s off to the track or the black top, another thing not everyone knows about automatic transmission explosions.
