Why would a thread get dumped when the only purpose of it was to help others?

i too was admonished and issued the threat of time out. guess we can add fart jokes to the VERBOTEN LIST...
I may have figured it out, but have no way to prove if I'm right. Whoever is whacking the threads with fart jokes probably doesn't still have a gall bladder. I haven't had a gall bladder for 3 years now and I simply do not trust a fart. No way, no how! However, people cracking fart jokes is still funny to me! :)

"Here I sit all broken hearted,"

If a guy could change his name admittedly from 64 AAR to the new 1, what hindered you from running under OLD MAN RAY. Asking for a friend. Seems the tenure and street credit of 10 plus years would help your mod abilities vs being a lookalike newbie posing as a sharp shooter with a broken scope

Between then and now I was 64 AAR Valiant

I vaguely remember the screen name Old Man Ray.
That isn't unusual though, I'm not as active here as I am at FBBO.

Any reason your friend can't ask me?

So, who's the moderator who deleted the thread in question???

The only reason that I have not started another thread for the Junkyard car is that I'm not 100% sure of what is acceptable.
I'm told that if a member wants to announce a parts car like this and does NOT intend to be the steward to all business related to the car, it needs to be in the General forum.
Okay, I understand that. Once my thread was moved there, it only stayed up for a couple of hours before it was pulled and nobody wants to tell us who did it and why. Because I can't see the thread, I don't know if someone tried to get me to go to the junkyard and pull parts for them. I've been warned about that before so I tried to make it clear that I was only posting the car to alert others so that they could go there themselves.
I don't know all the inner workings but I get the feeling that there are some problems with commentary and requests within sales ads, they don't want members enticing others into making deals outside of the sales forum either. It is a bit murky so this is about all that I understand of it.
It is easier to follow rules if we know what they are.
Despite my smart aleck history, I do like helping people when I can. It does not benefit me from announcing parts cars in junkyards. I tell the guys in the car club about them along with any friend of mine that has a similar car. A year ago I told a friend that a 64 Valiant was in this same junkyard. He left work early and went there to get the whole front end...fenders, hood, grille, bumper and valance. He has a 65 Valiant convertible that a prior owner swapped on a 66 Dart front clip.

I have been tempted to comment in the sales ads MANY times. I've struggled to just click OUT and move on. For me, it is not easy.
I have sent PMs to the seller and most of the time, I am really polite. Rarely have I been thanked for it. My efforts were only meant to inform. I know that I want to be as accurate as I can with what I sell.
Maybe comments should be eliminated in ALL sales ads. If this were the case, no moderators would ever have to edit or delete anything there. Since the rules are to take comments to PMs, this seems like a smart move by the site owner.

But when the seller doesn’t update his thread with the right info it doesn’t help the buyer any. Then there is a pissing match cause the buyer didn’t get what he thought he was gonna get. I know it’s buyer beware but I trust that the seller is trustworthy. But some sure are not. They leave out info knowingly that would hurt their sale. Kim

Exactly. Im sure hes been following this thread, so he should at least have the cahonies to man up and explain his actions, not doing so casts a dark shadow on all mods.
What is so frickin hard about that?? Sweet Jebus dude, grow the hell up, explain or apologize, its not that damn difficult.

yeah gawd forbid somebody provide pertinent, useful information to the matter at hand.
Very true, but maybe the mod doesn’t have a clue what useful information is which doesn’t help the seller or the buyer cause he deleted it without truly knowing he done a disfavour to all involved. Or maybe he doesn’t even care.

I’m sure he has. Oh it is. Some ppl are never wrong and have never had consequences for their actions.

I feel there is not only far to much censorship on this board, it is off the rails. I've seen MANY threads where some guy wanted info on what something might be worth, and was demanded that "he start a wanted thread." ****!!!!! I've wondered A LOT about pricing, especially in this (N Idaho) area, which is pretty lame, for parts. What is a 904 core worth? I see some wanting 200. I don't think so, Tim.

I've learned a lot because of some of the comments in the sale/ wanted ads.

AND I AM STILL PISSED about the "GREAT BIG RED PRINT" **** HIM and the ozzie fuckin **** he swam in on.
