She took a a neighbor who recently had eye surgery shopping. She parked in a handicapped spot and forgot to put the placard on the rear-view....this from the woman who does not even let me come to a stop and she has the damn thing hanging...:banghead::banghead::banghead:

I guess it would be worth trying to prove she has it. Although she would not be able to prove she had it with her at the time.

"I can top that story." In the last couple of years "there was a story" over there in Socialist WA state about someone who had "otherwise legally" parked in a HC spot. They had the sticker / hanger/ plates / whatever. They had the right to do so.

But they had gotten one set of wheels a small amount over the line into the blue safety zone---the safety zone FOR THAT VERY PARKING SPOT, because the "guy next door" was illegally crowding that spot.

Guess what? Nice big ticket. It was on the 'noose'

Ticket is around $500 if I remember right, she will be going to court. WA issues a card in addition to the placard/plate just in case something like this happens....

The ones that burn my *** are the folks that park in the striped area NEXT to the handicap spots.....because there was no available spots when they parked...

Sorry to change the topic somewhat, but I was talking to a guy that was pissed for getting a ticket in a WalMart parking lot for not having his seatbelt on. Did not get pulled over until he was on a road. By that time he had the seatbelt on, but the cop said he only put it on when he saw the cop.

Shouldn't be an issue. Go to court, bring the placard. Explain that it was in the car, just forgot to hang in on the mirror.
It should be dismissed.

Laws very from state to state... I took my handicap mother to OKC for a doctor's appointment, somehow the placard fell off the mirror and I got a ticket. I called the court house, they had me bring in the placard so they could make a copy of it and they dismissed the ticket. I never had to go before the judge.

Yeah if the placard is brought to the local station or court house, that should NOT even waste a Judges time on. Its legit, the policeman that wrote the ticket could have torn it up if he had seen it, while writing the ticket and it should not even had gone this far!

Doug, I wouldn't worry to much on it, that won't go far.....
