whats everybody running? it seems most everyone here who're buying new brakes are buying wilwood. im getting my rearend together and will be looking for rear disc brakes in the near future. i have moser axles. the person who ordered them for me told moser i was going to use disc brakes, but how can you tell if they are set up for disc brakes, or does it matter? if i sound stupid its probably because im talking. sorry.

On theDemon I have the SSBC disc's because I wanted the 4" BC, But on the 65 Cuda, I have the wilwood (4.5 BC), THe wilwood is a better and lighter. the picture is a comperison between the stock 9" drum amd wilwood 11" rotor. But also about %50 more money, the SSBC kit comes with everthing from Prop. valve to master cyl. and both are very good quality kits

Agreed. I have the same. Good quality, good instructions, and no mods.

My personal feeling, for what its worth, is that rear discs are a waste of money. Maybe not a total waste, but you don't really get much bang for the buck. I was talking to a Chrysler brake engineer a few years back and the topic of rear discs came up. He told me that a properly engineered rear drum with a proper front disc set up was as good as 4 wheel discs. The rear discs were better when antilocks came into the picture. For most instances though they had to put rear discs on because everyone else was doing it. It was a sales gimmick. Put the money in the motor. Go faster, that's my motto.

most of my fast cars have had 4 wheel drum and I left them, why less drag, scared the (*&((*&% out of my self a few times but the only fender I dented was when the system was out of ballence.

For a street car it only makes sence to use disk/drum g-force race or show car disks needed.

For the street daily driver use the largest disk/drum you can afford and a correcty adjusted p-valve.

Just my 2c do not take my word for it do your own reseach. It is your life understand how you are proteting it.

I'll agree with you there, Stopping at any speed with 9" front drums is unsafe on the street. The front disc's stop you great constantly. Rear disc's are great for looks and do give a slight advantage in stopping. But best gain for the buck is front Disc's.

Even if you upgrade to disc's from another car, very well worth it, now my $.02 worth.
