Windshield molding Clips question

The clips for the windshield on the bottom of both front and rear are adjustable slotted. Where do they sit middle of the slot, forward or back. Do they sit just proud of the windshield channel. I dont understand why they are slotted when you cant adjust anyway when the windshield is installed.

those clips hold the molding in. I doubt it would matter where they are as long as they were spaced fairly evenly to properly hold the molding down.

the top of the clip should be flush with the top of lip. The minimal clip adjustment is for the bite of the clip to hold the molding.

just ordered a set tonight...replacing windshield on Duster...will take a look at the clips tomorrow..as the windshield is out....and i cleaned out the channel today of all the crap...but did not touch clips until the new ones show up.
