windshield trim removal

I need to remove the top passenger piece of window trim. Does the clip removal tool go from top down or bottom up to release the trim? Picture would be even better.

Reach under the chrome from the glass side. hook the clip and pull it away from the body with a side ways prying motion. This will release the clip from the trim.

The clip actually squeezes the trim to the body with tension and a burr holds the trim on. You must release the clip tension. Some times they could be tuff if sealer has the trim glued fast to the clip and the body. Easier when the body is hot from the sun.

Am I correct, but the clip is actually under the seal right?

Well, Its behind the seal. there is no easy way to replace them without removing the glass on the car. There is usually a Phillips screw holding them to the vertical lip on the windshield frame.

Ok I installed the clips just couldnt remember how I did it but it seamed like they were under the seal.
