Good morning, im doing a cosmetic restoration on a friends wiper motor. I would like to make the ballast look new again. Does anyone have suggestions on how to clean it up? any home remedies?........Thanks for any suggestions.. Rich

can i soak it in any type of cleaning solution?

update.. sorry no pics.. i soaked the ballast in evaporust and then hit it with Mr. Clean magic eraser... it came out spotless

i was really surprised how good it looked after the Mr. Clean eraser... like snow white and brand new...Rich

I used an ultra sonic cleaner. Honestly its been the most usually part I've purchased since maybe a ratchet lol. Its make cleaning bolts, latches, really anything a put it in the box set the time and temp and come back to a new looking part.

I just used The purple stuff and some 0000 steel wool. it was covered in over Spray at least 4 times!

All new rivets after total teardown and A total re-grease for another 50 years! At least I hope!
