When I pulled the wiper switch knob off , the whole shaft came out. 1970 Dart Swinger Anyone else have this problem. Thanks

Kind of looks like threads by the notch.
Put it back in and screw it in?

On my 67 2 speed wiper switch the shaft is help in by an internal snap ring.
Obviously they changed the design along the road
