Wiper switches 69 barracuda

I am trying to collect up all the parts for a 1969 cuda to redo w my son down the road. Car needed everything it was half stripped. Parts collection coming together nicely now. Got a wiper question though. Car is going to have a 2 speed wiper motor setup.

Wiper switch that was in the dash PN# 2820525 is a 2 speed wiper w washer switch. Had a resistor hanging off the switch. I know these were used with the leece neville motor. The resistor on the switch was to slow it to low speed setting. This wont work on the 69 wiper motor. It has a resistor on it to slow it down for the low setting.

I purchased a 2 speed switch that is supposed to be for a 1968 to 1971 2 speed setup.
PN# 2864415. This switch doesnt have provision for an electric washer circuit. As a matter of fact when you plug the switch into the wiring, the wire that goes to the electric washer doesnt even plug in.

My questions are this. Was the wiring plug in the dash on the 69 barracuda made as a universal plug to fit a 2 speed wiper switch that used a manual foot operated washer pump, and also to fit a V speed wiper switch with electric washer pump.

Also was there a 2 speed switch available w electric washer pump switch for 1969 ? And if so what is the part number ? If not i will need a manual foot pump diaphragm. Does anybod make these? If not i may have to just hunt the parts down to make it a variable speed. I already have 2 spare V speed motors needing rebuilding.

What you may have to do is to run a wire from the switch to you bulkhead connector and then from the connector on the engine side to your pump motor. My 68 has the foot operated washer and I am hoping to find a switch so I can wire in an electric washer pump. Just check out the wiring diagram for your car to see where the washer switch would be connected to your bulkhead connector.

I have all new harnesses from yearone not installed. I opened up dash harness and washer pump wire is installed on the dash harness. And its installed on the engine harness. Car didnt have harnesses when i got it. I got a 69 dash with a used harness. It had a 67 2 speed switch w washer switch plugged in. I know thats not right for a 69 model. I bought a new year one harness. Plug is exactly the same.

Even if you have to install a small momentary switch I am sure you can make it work.

Only thing i can think of is use a 90°male, male spade and plug it into the pump wire. At the switch, to a push button and to a ign switch hot. Kinda hokey though.

Like I said, run it through the correct circuit on your bulkhead connector.

All the wiring is there from the pump motor to the switch plug, just the wire at the switch plug doesnt plug in on a 2 speed switch. No spot on the switch for it. So you run that brown wire with tracer wire to a pushbutton, powered off the fusebox.

I would say no. But do not really know. 2 speed was low end and most had foot pumps like mine!

I am thinking probably not as well. The wiring does plug into the switch, however the brown w white tracer (pump wire) at the switch doesnt plug into anything on this 2 speed switch. This leads me to believe the plug was universal, and either a 2 speed with no electric washer, or V speed switch with electric washer was installed.

So now i am at a crossroads. I have two 2 speed wiper motors, and two Variable speed wiper motors. Have to decide what to use now.

Can i even get a new foot pump diaphragm? And if so, who makes one?

Matt digging thru my stuff, switch #2770378 is a 67 wiper switch with the push washer button. Hard to tell if its variable or not but I believe so.

Switches in your pix one on left is 1967 2 speed because of the built in resistor for low speed, and low , high click detent. One on the right is a variable speed. No click detent between low, high just a variable movement

Can a 67 2 speed wiper switch be used in a 68 to convert it to an electric washer?
Gee, guess we just went full circle......If you do a search on the 2770378 switch is comes up as variable speed.

I have a 67 2 speed switch. It has the resistor built onto rhe switch for low speed when used with a leece neville wiper motor. This is a 1 year only switch. Or may have been used earlier than 67 on other vehicles.

68-72 2 speed switches there is no resistor for low speed. the wiper motor itself has the resistor on it for low speed.

I was concidering making a small sub harness with a pushbutton momentary contact switch that would mount into the old foot pump washer bracket. My wiring is new made by M&H and has the all the wires for an electric pump setup if equipped from switch to pump motor. I would unpin the pump wire at the dash switch, run that down to the electric pushbutton at the foot pump bracket, then back up to the fuse box.

The reason for this is 68-72 2 speed wiper switches are NOT set up with a contact for an electric washer pump. I would know, i have taken them apart to rebuild them.

My motor is 2 speed and I have the manual foot operated foot pump, I just want the 2 speed switch with the washer option...one way or another I will have the electric washer.

Use a 67 2 speed switch with washer, and a 67 wiper motor, then get yourself some schematics and repin all the wires to work.
