I'd like to thank Rat rod Al for letting me get those 66 barracuda and 65 dart hardtop rear panels since they really helped me define my friends rear panels so they fit well, anyway I;m making door panels for my car, my friends car and his customers that want new door cards to make custom panels from . so far I have fitted the front panels and door cars to the 64-66 (the ones I have in the shop and fixed the oops placement of one clip hoe) dart convertibles ANY way without further ado (really weird spelling for that ) here are the ABS cut board he wanted and the ones I'm putting on mine, the brown cloth covered panels will be redone in ABS for my convertible Trunk panels next on the list to make!

I'm trying to understand why you would go to this effort to reproduce something that is already reproduced to match the originals. Is it for the sole purpose of being able to make a custom vinyl cover onto the card? Is there much call for this?

Having done this same thing myself, it makes it much easier to make a custom door panel with this sheet, plus it is much cheaper for this material and it is 100% waterproof. the 4 x 8 sheet of plastic that i bought about 5 years ago was 85 bucks. That gave me more than enough material do doo all the door cards in my 39 ford Tudor sedan. Covered them with pre sewn diamond pleat vinyl. The vinyl cost 125 bucks for 8 yards through Amazon shipped to my door. Plus 65 buck for a gallon of DAP sprayable Landau Top glue, that made the total cost of my door cards $275, and my time to make them. I was quoted $1500 to $2000 dollars for the door cards to be done the same way at an Upholstery shop. doing this stuff on a budget, i went the $275 route. Look at what it costs to get new repro door cards from Year one / Legendary. Yes they are very very nice, but when its 1200 bucks for all you door card stuff, that can be cost prohibitive to a lot of us. If you don't have door cards, or yours are just trash, this is a great way to make it way better for way less or even a good thing to have for a few years while your are saving up the 4 to 5 thousand dollars its gonna take to order everything, door cards, seat covers, foam, headliner, etc, you need for the inside of your car from Legendary.

I paid about $400 for all 4 interior panels for my '65 Barracuda a few years ago. I do see now that they have gone up and looked at Classic Industries, they now sell pairs for $410 (fronts) and $287 (rears.) in black. Finished, ready to install with chrome mylar inserts. I doubt that these could be preproduced on a small scale for less that that, and with the quality of the reproductions. They were made by PUI.

I make custom ones for myself and other's in my car club group. not for commercial resale and for people who DO want custom ones if they are in my group or here. I also can do the custom work for others, but price wise it's a wash of about 100 bucks total difference BUT it'll NEVER rot unlike classic induistried ones that DO rot. Since I'm in the middle of replacing one for a customer thats only 4 years old from classic indistries and using the vinyl I managed to salvage, (*not the capreting it was trash also_) is there a call for it? not many, but when you need it are you going to buy chipboard (we know it rots when water hits it or ABS which won't at 1/2 the price if the vinyl is good? Here is the thing, I wanted them for mine! and so far its worked out well, if anyone want them then they can get them. but I don't promote them other than saying "lookie here I made these." BUT I wanted then for MY cars so it works for me, same with my custom LED tail lights and 4 light conversion wiring for the rears on a (mine) 66 dart and other part I make, if I sell any thats okay and if I don't then thats okay too! I got mine cheaper than buying them online and can make more if I screw up.

you do know its a small shop over in china thats does make them right? (as in 2-5 workers ,) before I retired my company sent me over there to work with a vendor for a custom part they needed made , that vendor had 40 or so "small shops" in one wharhouse of one or 2 people doing EXACTLY that" from door panel to anything automotive and lots of custom vinyl work (darned nice work too! but CHEAP vinyl) they got 67 USA dollars for the SET of 4 (461.42yuan) and that wasa LOTfior them to get and split according to the translator we had I watched a little while when they were making some camaro dor panels
