He changed the on/off switch though. $75 as is, but now that it turns on, I'd recommend you pony up the $400. But, we must also assume it turns off as well. SO $400 for on, $400 for off. Price seems reasonable.

But in all seriousness, they are worth some money if they have been properly maintained. Usually if they are the real early ones,a Curtis comp can go for $1k or more. This one is not well maintained. Its junk. He's got it on Ebay as well. He seems to know kind of what they're worth, but unless your an antique tool collector, or antique machine collector, it's worthless.

I have lots of antique tools in my shop. I sure as hell don't need an antique air compressor though. My bandsaw was made by Crescent Saw Co. in 1901. There's only a few moving parts to a bandsaw so they are easy to maintain... a compressor though...
 

It HAS been upgraded with an electric motor, though. I believe it originally came with a little steam engine.
