Wrong vinyl overlay for A body center console?

Ok last year at a swap meet i bought a in package vinyl wood overlay for the center console both peices for the console and the storage compartment section i go to lay the back section on and its about one inch too short and slightly too wide at the back?. Was he mistaken and its for something else or is this something on my end? Any help appreciated

Can you get pictures?

It seems like a packaging error, but it could be something else. You may see a 1/16" here or there short, but nothing that large on either end.

I'd say you likely have the wrong set, but it's hard to say without pictures.
