We went into New York today to the World Trade Center. I thought some of you might like to see what it looks like now. It's easy to get passes but you have to go through 5 or 6 checks before they let you in. I have some pics of the Occupy group and Wall street itself if anyone is interested. I lost 2 friends there, it seems like a long time ago now.

Thank you for sharing your pictures with us.

If you don't mind telling us, do you feel it is a fitting memorial? From what I've seen, it is magnificent, but just wondering from someone who has been there.

To me its not the same..But Im glad something has been done. Im very happy to see something there no matter what it is. It was a extremly sad day that i will never forget.........Thanks for sharing and sorry to hear of your loss. God bless

I worked for Verizon at the time and did get over there in December 2001. It's not what I expected but it is a beautiful spot. It was one ugly mess then and I'm glad to see it being restored. That new tower is built like a battleship, it will be 1776 ft high when it's done. There will be 104 floors if I remember right. Yeah, I want to see that thing sticking up there like a middle finger!

We had the opportunity to see the site in 2005, and the sheer size of it really brought into perspective the magnitude of what we witnessed on the news that day. However it was the small memorial of actual remnants of the devastation that was on the USS Intrepid that brought tears to our eyes. Never forget.
