I was wondering if someone could fill me in on some numbers on stock X heads. I need to know what size combustion chamber they have and would like to know some flow numbers on stock cast X heads, thanks much.

They are usually around 65cc on the 68-69 castings, and flow about 180-190stock,but to be sure spend a few extra bucks and get them cc d They can also get as high as 72cc ,the very.

The chambers are typically much larger than the factory spec. That's true of all the mopar open chamber heads. The Xs tend to start around 72ccs. Especially if you re-use the valves. Also, the few stock X heads Ive seen flowed were higher.. closer to 205-210. Benches and testers are never the same so it's common to have different numbers.

I have a set of 68 X heads and after a .010" cut the chambers cc'd at 71 cc's.

JFYI Valve type seems to make a big difference cause I later switched to Stainless valves and then cc'd the chambers again and it dropped to 67 cc's.

Here was my heads flow numbers when stock.

intake------------Exhaust
.100-60------------50
.200-120-----------95
.300-167-----------131
.400-200-----------143
.500-205-----------146
.600-200-----------148

For comparison, here's the flow numbers from my X heads that were shaved, and then ported by Bobby @ BJR:

Lift - Intake - Exhaust
0.100 - 84 - 74
0.200 - 138 - 114
0.300 - 202 - 144
0.400 - 235 - 192
0.500 - 243 - 202
0.600 - 242 - 202

This is with 2.02/1.60 valves, 53cc chambers.

Fishy, the stainless valves will also improve the flow numbers too, over the OEM 'tulip' valves. Just about 6-8 numbers. on my bench.
