Year One Dual Snorkel Hood Scoop

I just got my hood scoop in from Year One. On the front of the scoop, between the two openings, it looks like the scoop is made of 2 pieces and there is a seam. There is a hole in the scoop where this seam does not come all the way together. I was curioius if this is normal? Are these scoops supposed to require prep work to smooth them out before painting? Or is this one flawed?

no visable seam that I can see. Mine needs a little bit of sanding, but not very much prep at all.

I bought one from Year One a long time ago and I don't remember it having a seam.

I don't know about the Year One scoops, but the originals WERE two pieces. So there is a seam in the front on the original. Not too sure what you are talking about with the gap...

I know exactly what your talking about.I order one(junk)sent it back and it cost me$$$ to much work involved to make it fit also looks.I picked up an orig. at moparfest in Ontario,Canada for$250 YearOne cost me $420 with shipping.What a lesson.
