yet another oil question.

So I finally put a mechanical style oil gauge on my barracuda it's a 318 when at idle it's around 20-25 psi when I hit the gas it drops to 10 ....by why ? Shouldn't it go up when the rpms go up. ......

Could it be an oil filter failure

Yup. Get a better oil filter on it. Pronto. Preferably not a fram.

Could be low on oil, Sucking the pan dry, dropping the oil pressure.

Auto or manual trans?
Could be center main bearing thrust faces worn, allowing crank to walk forward and drop oil pressure.
Auto trans car does not have any thrust loading from a clutch, so the crank could be floating back and forth.
