    fuel gauge sorta works?

the fuel gauge operates on 5 volts which it gets the positive, from the voltage limiter when its is powered up by the ignition key. and the ground (or negative) is supplied by going through a rheostat that is connected to a float that is installed in the fuel tank, so you either have a bad...

hi guys, can anyone give me information on what jets and needles that i should change to adapt a new 750 cfm edelbrock performer that i have put on my completely stock n code 383 auto that had a factory 625 cfm carter originally? the 383 is one that i've put in my 1967 ex 273 fastback barracuda...

    stuck dipstick!

hey a few years back i had a portable phone that was causing me grief and that had just lost a long distance call, that was the last straw! i was working on my motorhome at the time, so i placed the phone under the dual wheels and drove over it, you would not believe the emotional release, hell...

    stuck dipstick!

thanks for the quick replies guys. the 383 727 combo i put in was from a 1970 roadrunner, so the bracket from the dipstick tube to the bellhousing was the only bolt retaining it, i was used to the older ones with the bolt at the base so it was the first thing i had checked. so i followed your...

    stuck dipstick!

i have a puzzling problem. i want to change the o-ring on the dipstick tube of my 727, but iv'e undone the bolt into the 383 block that hold the dipstick retaining bracket, and the dipstick wobbles around, but no amount of pulling will remove it. there are no other bolts holding it, it must be...

    Need jetting help!

thanks Darter6, in fact yesterday i did just that, and because the kickdown was in a different location, it shifted to soon, and flooring the gas gave slow acceleration, so i readjusted the shift speeds up, and now it goes like hell! i did get a slight pop from the carb when doing maybe 30 mph...

    Need jetting help!

i've just bolted an Edelbrock 1411-750CFM with electric choke onto the original intake of my 1969 "N" code 330 H.P. 383. The motor is stock, with about 80,000 miles on it, compression of 145 all around, and has all its oil changes (clean inside). What i'd like to know is what internal changes...

    edelbrock 1481 adapter for linkage

thanks Rick, that picture is clear and shows the bracket well. i guess i'll have to rejig my original factory gas cable clamping bracket as the cable has to be moved forward to work and the metal collar that is usually clamped to retain the cable would be out of the bracket, so i'll lengthen...

    edelbrock 1481 adapter for linkage

hi guys, i've just recieved a 750 cfm Edelbrock performer afb for my 1969 383 to replace the original 625 cfm avs. My 1967 Barracuda has stock cable linkage and lokar cable for kickdown, so according to the Edelbrock website I need a #1481 adapter kit. looking at the instructions online it looks...

    K.I.S.S. principal works!

well after my previous thread: (does anyone know the torque for the new 727 pan gasket #P2464324AC? i've been going nuts trying to seal my 727, which you'd think any idiot could do it, thus i've proved that wrong. tried with original pan (checked for squareness, and flattened bolts holes) 1...

    727 pan?

thanks Rick, tommorow i'll go to the dealer and talk with their transmission guy, if he doesn't know, no one will! Gerry

    727 pan?

thanks Rick, i saw that one too, seems to be a lot of deeper pans but i'd like to stick with a regular depth one. if chrysler made this special gasket, you'd think they'd have another one that followed the pan lines, the dealers are selling this one to cover all 727's apparently! i made sure...

    727 pan?

the chrysler dealer sells this gasket as a reusable 727 gasket and various people have told me to get this gasket to stop leaks, so there must be a later 727 pan as its used up until the late 1990's anyway.

    727 pan?

can anyone give me any info on a original 727 pan that will fit the chrysler 2464324AC reuseable gasket? as you can see by the pictures the new gasket doesn't line up with the old pan, the gasket is straight at the back, the pan is not. i tried it, and it leaks at that spot where the pans...
