Time to sell the Scamp :( It's been sitting outside half-a-dozen years. Any interest? You can check out my profile to see how it looked a decade ago when I restored it. Heavy rust around the vinyl top since then.

    What went wrong??

So where does all the money go? It lines the pockets of the rich and powerful. They aren't buying the same **** they're sellin' us. They spend a 'bit' more on their vehicles than we do. Eat the rich. (present company excluded :snakeman: )

Road trip/Army Graduation (lots of photos)

My best friend Jeremy joined the Army. At 40 years old, with a wife, a 3-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son, working at a decent job, it seemed almost ludicrous when he told me that he wanted to "do my duty and serve my country". I reminded him that we were in 2 separate wars with another...

The Scamp's engine, trans and steering are in place

Reading this thread has been thoroughly enjoyable. So, that's what you get when you throw mad fabricating skills, tireless dedication and a bunch of money at a cool car. Great work! I'd like to come out and see you run it when you're ready. What are you planning for paint?

Dash Pad. After Market or Have Restored?

I also spoke to Just Dashes, and I got the impression that my money just wasn't green enough for them. They obviously don't need the business. I'd cover my dash in bubble gum wrappers before I'd give them a dollar. And I have yet to purchase a single aftermarket reproduction part that was...

Im tired of seeing chevy n ford ads!

The ads here are not overbearing, in my opinion. I'll regularly click on an ad or two on this site, even if I'm not shopping for anything, and browse a little on the advertisers site. If no one ever did that, there would be no money in advertising, and no income for sites like this one...

    What's Your Cars Name?

Although I consider it a friend, I still refer to it simply as "the Scamp". Like there could be another?

Share your quirky, spooky, or supernatural Mopar Stories

I bought my Scamp in the summer of 2000. As I pulled away from the sellers house there was major banging coming from underneath. I pulled over the check it out and determined that it was broken clamps allowing the exhaust to bang around. On the ride home it started raining. I had 2 wipers...

    Trim parts wanted

Thanks, Rick! I just called to order. I'm looking forward to getting my 4th molding! Still trying to figure out which rocker molding is correct (75 1/2" or 77 1/2"), anyone? Thanks! Mike

    Trim parts wanted

I'm looking for a decent right front wheel lip molding for my '74 Scamp. I'm pretty sure it's the same molding as all the 70-76 A-bodies. I bought a set of 4 on eBay for a sweet deal, knowing that one was "damaged". The right front is crushed in 2 places. I still ended up with 3 really nice ones...

    Save AdamR's Dart

If that's your most often driven vehicle, and you've got a nice engine pic to post, I say go for it!

    Save AdamR's Dart

Hadn't thought of that... I don't have that multi-car problem :) How about the "most often driven" in your stable? And I think we should see engine shots of the engine you're donating in honor of! Mike

    Save AdamR's Dart

Most of us have cars... Most of our engines are 225, 318, 340, 360, etc. My car has a 318. Divide by 100 and donate $3.18. You 528 Hemi guys can surely kick in $5.28. And show me a slant six guy who couldn't spare $1.98 or $2.25! So, here's my $3.18, what's under YOUR hood? Mike

The real costs of a slick ride

My car might be worth $8k to the right buyer. I've had it for 9 years and spent more than $25k since I bought it. I bet I have several hundreds of my own hours into it. It doesn't have a selling price, it's my friend. Short of being homeless and hungry, I just plain wouldn't sell it. Even...

    Spare tire pic ?

I'm having the same questions with my spare. I bought a 14 x 5.5" plain steel wheel and put a BFG Radial T/A 215/70-14 on it to match my tires. It sits in the tire well a good 3" above the rest of the trunk floor. I'm not sure if I need to change the tire size or get a different wheel?

    Road trip!

Timing chain and gears were done 10/2001 and gone about 20,000 miles since then. When I get back from my trip I'll throw in on the Shriners Scamp build and we'll see what we can do about valve covers. Thanks so much! Good friends, Me and Murph! I'm offering him to stay home on this trip...

    Save AdamR's Dart

It seems to me that with all the talk about 10,000 members here, there's no reason we should be limited to helping out one guy. I offered to throw in $35 for this "cause". I got the number from what I recently paid for a membership to the site. An amount I am lucky enough to be able to afford...

    Road trip!

Well, I've had it around the block a few times, now we'll see if it'll go across the country! Thanks! I'll have internet access on my laptop wherever Sprint has coverage. If I get in a real jam, I'll be yelling!

    Road trip!

Nah, just a few days. I'm planning to drive up June 16th and 17th and drive back on June 22nd and 23rd. That gives me 4 days to visit and give my Florida girl a good tour of where I grew up.

    Road trip!

I'm taking my Scamp on the road in two weeks. Driving from Orlando, FL to Boston, MA! And back again! I am going to start collecting parts and tools to carry with me on the trip so only a catastrophic failure could stop me! I am looking for your recommendations on how to pack for the car...

    bypassing the alternator gauge

I did the ammeter bypass recently and it required no other modifications. I simply removed the connectors from both sides of the gauge and connected them directly together. The benefit is that you won't have to carry the entire current load of the system through the firewall connector. As...
