How to get rid of understeer in a 1970 340

Well, the KYB Gas-a-Justs will cost you under $130 for all four. If you're willing to spend $400, you could get something better. I don't mind KYB's, but I'm not going for high performance handling.

    Steering knuckle rebuild help needed

Right, and if that's the one you're talking about, you can get the same thing much cheaper than from that Mancini kit. Try rockauto or ebay.

    New K-Frame?

As for the torsion bars, if the car came with a/c and no one has swapped them, it will have 318 bars already. They're still not 340 bars, but they're better/bigger than regular non-a/c torsion bars.

Why are front end rebuild kits so expensive??

I still want to know what this $600 kit was and what all it included. I was looking again today, most of them are around $250 with almost everything, and minus a pitman arm. I'm still going to piece mine together for less with good parts.

Why are front end rebuild kits so expensive??

I'm going to piece mine together also, but even the kits I've priced weren't anywhere near $600, not sure where you're looking for that price. Unless you're including anti-sway bars & torsion bars in that price.

    Rolling on a budget

You don't have to get the whole vehicle, just find one in a PnP and rip the front end out of it, haul it home, rebuild it wherever you have room, then roll it under the car when it's done.

    Rolling on a budget

Probably about the cheapest and minimum way would be Schumacher mounts and Scarebird front disc brake conversion, then just add some bigger torsion bars and you should be ok on that front. However, unless it's already been done, your front suspension really should be rebuilt. So then you could...

    .. springs settling ? ..

Can you post a pic of the way it is now? Partially just because I'm curious what you think 1" lower than what you were shooting for looks like, and also because I have the exact same springs as you have (not yet installed).

But are we talking about the front to back? Or the one on the axle itself?

    Leaf Springs,Replace or recondition?

I don't doubt it. You've said it numerous times in this thread so you've been heard. For me, I don't feel like putzing around with all that right now, so for me the best option was ESPO. They get great reviews, most seem to like the quality, I'm sure they'll be a fine option for me as well as...

    Leaf Springs,Replace or recondition?

Just ordered new 1" over stock 6 leafs from ESPO for just over $300 shipped. Not even worth considering bothering with re-arching for that price.

Hey thanks much, I didn't catch that thread. Mine doesn't have the other mods that car has, so I think it'll be fine for me. Going for handling.

Hotchkis Leaf Springs with Addco Rear sway bar?

GMachineDartGT, If you had pics of how the car sits it would help out a lot. I have a set of these springs new for my 72 Dart. Or is more of a ride thing? Either way a pic of how it sits especially before the 3/8 lift would be appreciated. Thanks. From what I read before buying the Hotchkiss...
