    rock auto

I like that rockauto uses fedex because they don't hose you with outrageous brokerage fees like UPS. What they quote you is what you pay. No surprises.

    rock auto

Is it saying fedex doesn't recognize the address? If so, just make sure you have it correct and place the order. I get the same message and have ordered from them in the past and have always received my order with no issues.

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Putting mine to bed today. Did manage to get 600 miles on it since getting it on the road in July. Have a few things to do still, but the Satellite needs my attention this winter.

    V6 vs V8

Today's V6's can create the HP, but they will never give you the TQ of a V8 and that's what gets you moving (at least without a power adder). Those new V6's also come backed with 6+ speed trannys so they can stay in the power band of the engine more often. As for ford and the 5.0L, that's not...

Put my car in a car show yesterday... Was not as fun as I thought it would be

I wouldn't worry about it. Kid probably thought it was Nova anyways!:D And someone will always think they can do a better job, but I guarantee they don't have a clue at the time, effort and money it takes to get one on the road!

5.2 Magnum swap into 70s-80s truck

They don't advertise at all, just word of mouth. It's seems to get a different crowd. Don't have a lot of the car snobs that just sit behind their cars the whole time.

5.2 Magnum swap into 70s-80s truck

The truck is pretty nice. The owner is a retired painter did all the bodywork himself. Came out really nice. Has charcoal stripes down the hood. The show is a Hartman's Automotive. It's on Dundas near the Kelloggs factory. The 69 is not finished yet, but I will be there with my 67...

5.2 Magnum swap into 70s-80s truck

That's my buddy's truck. We have a show in London aug 10th this year that it might be at. I'll ask him if he's going to bring it or not.

5.2 Magnum swap into 70s-80s truck

Helped out with this 1985 ram. It's a 93 5.2L mag. Was a slant six prior. Has an A500 behind it. With a wiring harness it actually isn't too bad. The gauges are probably the most work to be honest.

    A-Bodies in the snow?

I drove a 75 dart to and from university (100km one way). Wasn't too bad and never got stuck with snow tires on it. Unfortunately, didn't handle so well on black ice and became a little too intimate with a highway barrier. To it's credit I was able to still drive the car for the remainder of...

    RIP Dodge Dakota 1987-2011

I have a 97, the first year for that body style. My first hotrod. Love the truck 5.2 auto with around 330-340 hp. I think the big mistake Dodge made was going too big with the 05 plus trucks. The styling was an obvious mistake. They really needed to figure out some fuel economy with those...

any truck owners?? lets see the dodge trucks..67 power wagon

My 97 dakota with a few mods that has got me to 247 rwhp and 265 rwtq out of the 318 and a friend's 85 ram I helped put a 93 318 magnum in place of the slant six.

    Chrysler 300!

The oil galleys in the heads were too small, starving the bottom end and.. well you can guess the result. If the engine was looked after meticulously, it might be OK. My brother had a 2001 Sebring with the 2.7L and it made it 120000 miles with no issues, but maintenance was definitely key. I...

beaters what options do us mopar lovers have?

I'll vouch for the daytonas also, especially with the turbo or even the v6 was a quick little car with very respectable gas mileage. I had an 88 shelby z with the turbo 2.2 and my brother had 92 with the 3.0 V6. Both very fun rides. I broke a lot of stuff, but that was more my driving than...

    trading for a dakota, opinions?

Check if the ball joints have been done. I don't think the 4wd's were as bad as the 2wd, but I'm on my third set with a little over 80000 miles on the truck ( it's a 97 2wd 318 ). Other than that, I think they are very solid truck.

    Anybody consider a V6 swap?

Just curious, does anybody have any dyno pulls on a fuelie slant six? Interested to see how it compares with the 3.9L carb to FI. Ma Mopar jumped from 125 hp to 175 hp and 195 tq to 225 tq. Now admittedly, there were a host of changes other than just the FI.

    Anybody consider a V6 swap?

Yeah that's probably the one. His was carbed IIRC. 35 mpg (29 mpg US gal.) seems a little optimistic to me but I suppose its possible. Do you remember if it had the OD tranny in it?
  26. dartfever

    Anybody consider a V6 swap?

For sheer ease the 3.9L would be an easy transplant as it is a 318 with 2 cyl. loped off. Engine mounts and any LA v8 tranny (including OD units, although some tunnel mods will be needed for the OD) bolt right up. Complete drop in if you have all the wiring and pcm to go with it. I have seen...

    Any other Daytona owners?

Had an 88 daytona shelby z basically identical to that black one. Was a blast to drive when it wasn't in the shop. Unfortunately, it was in the shop all too often. They did tend to get light in the *** end at around 120 mph!!

    show your mopar you rescued.

Here's my 69 dart swinger before and current state. It is a numbers matching car, but I have set the block aside for the time being. A 360 will reside in its place.
