Are the tabs supposed to compress down as shown in the first picture when installing the intake or stay up like the second pic? I am not using end seals, but will be sealing with a bead of sealant instead. I was just wondering if they were guides for the ends seals or something. Thanks.

I was mocking up my intake to my newly built 340 and noticed these openings in the heads. Is this normal to be exposed or am I missing something here? Thanks for the help. Ken
