It's so simple and cheap, I don't know why I've never seen it posted before; but after seeing yet another ad looking for the hard-to-find MP throttle bracket, I figured I'd share my secret...
Start out with the cheaper than dirt 318 2bbl. bracket.

Clamp the mounting ears in a vice.

Pound on it with a hammer until the ears are folded over to 90*.

Clean it up, paint it and bolt it on your engine.

The new mounting position lines up perfectly with the 4bbl. linkage. Even the factory kickdown linkage fits right on and works perfectly.

Lookee there- all factory parts; no hokey aftermarket stuff cobbled together with questionable results. And you've probably got all of it sitting in a spare parts box somewhere!

Edit:
One thing I need to add is that if you're running an automatic, the part of the kickdown linkage that holds the slotted part at the carburetor in some instances may need to be lengthened about 1 1/4 inches or so to get it into adjustment range. This depends on the style linkage you're using (there were several different designs over the years. All styles I have tried this with have worked equally well). Regardless of style, it's a simple mod. Just make a cut and add an appropriate piece of metal to lengthen it, either flat steel or round rod depending on the style of linkage.
