I just got a brand new set of 002-003 mopar performance super stock springs today. I am going to put them on my 67 Dart this weekend.
While they are still off the car I thought I would start this thread to help answer any questions I can before I install them. Then I will be glad to answer any questions about them after they are installed and will post pictures as well. I am doing this because I have been helped by lots of people on FABO so I am trying to give a little back. Plus there seems to be a lot of posts about these springs.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW??

Should I leave this here or post it in the suspension section?

I just bought new shocks before I decided to do the spring swap. I don't want to buy new ones at the moment so I am going to buy shock extensions instead.

Just by the springs sitting side by side I can see the difference in the arch. I needed new springs for my and always wanted to run the SS springs. If for some reason I am not happy with them, at least I can always say, been there done that.

Mancini racing sells the longer drag shocks pretty cheaply.

Your *** end is gonna be wayyyy up in the air with those springs, mine was so I added 1.5 inch lowering blocks which made the stance perfect.

Before I put the lowering blocks it looked like a 4wd truck from behind.

I was thinking about just flipping the front spring mounts. I saw a picture of the dart - 71 Dartguy has and it sits exactly like I want mine to sit. He mentioned that he did the front spring mount flip.

Wait, they'll settle down a little bit.

Mine settled down fine and I am happy with the ride. I havent installed the longer MP shocks yet, but plan to. Andrew

I am not so sure they will settle down all that much. I have had mine on this car since 2006 , have made over 750 runs down the track and it still sits as high as the day I first installed them.

THis picture shows my 73 dart sport with the 002-003 SS springs installed and the car has 28/10.00 X 15 Goodyear drag slicks. The picture may not show it well , but there is at least 2" of cl;earance from the top of the tires to the bottom of the wheel well lip. I have the B-body (longer) CE race shaocks installed also.

PS: notice how the spring arch results in the front bottom edge of the wheelwell being very close to the tire. In this case it was and I had to make spacers and shim rear spirng hangers back about 1/2" to fix it.

Forgive me if I'm off base here, it's been years since I did my SS springs. The front eye bushing is a larger diameter than the stock bushing, at least it was on my car. I had to bore out the hole in the front spring hanger and get new bolts to match the larger bushing ID. I seem to remember the stock bolt was 1/2 inch and the new bolts were 5/8. I also remember parts store rear bushings were a lot more expensive than the Mopar Performance 8 pack.

Yep. Thats true.

Yes, the Duster is lighter and will not settle as much, I would flip the front mounts and be happy!

I have those springs on my Duster and they do settle a bit, i put mine on about 3 years ago and they settled at least an inch maybe a little more.

I am going to try and put them on this weekend. I will take pictures of the SS springs and the stock on side by side. Pics of the car with stock springs and then pics of the car with the SS springs.

Wait, they'll settle down a little bit.

I agree on waiting for them to settle down.

Here's a pic of SS springs and an original one from my car all side by side. Just went thru this last weekend.

The left is an original, center is the SS driver side, and on the right the SS pass side.

Thanks for the picture 6pk2goDemon. Got any before and after pictures?

I do have pics, but they are with different wheels and tires, so may not really help you.

I can tell you the SS springs raised my car about 1 3/4" left and 2" right.

If that is where mine sits it will be real close to where I want it once I flip the front hanger.
