Duster mini tubbing project

-
Thanks guys, now I'm trying to figure out how to make a Duster look like a hardtop(both windows down or out making one big side window opening). And next is choosing a color, cant for the life of me deciede between Sassy Grass or Hemi Orange ( or a similar look to one of those colors). Thats the thing with our cars, always thinking whats next!!!!!!! As long as it means working on them, I quess.

I had an idea for the Duster hardtop thing...

If you could drill out the spotwelds for the structure under the window, and splay them inward a little and weld some metal in there to make up extra space, you may have room to drop the window down.

Hmmmm, I'll have to take a look at that. I was also thinking, maybe theres a way to make the window just come out, with some kind or quick release setup, frame and all. I'm gonna do some looking into it this weekend, to see if anything is posible or if its just a pipe dream .

Be careful when using blocks. Don't use aluminum, they crack. Not usually at a convenient time, either. You also need to consider that a block will add to the leverage the axle exerts on the spring.

You got it, heres some pictures of the project.....

Nice work and great pics!

Well done and the car looks great with that tire under it.

Thanks again, still need to drop the rear an inch or 2, then I'll be completely happy with it. I want the top of the tire right at the lip of the wheel well, I think that will look a lot better. Now I'm working on a nasty little 340 for the car, that way it will perform as good as it looks.

Thanks, that's one of the best shot by shot mini tub jobs I've seen. Now I got to get up the nerve to cut my car!

Thanks, it was alot of work, but well worth it. This was the first time I tackled something like this, just did some reserch and looked at some of the other guys did, took my time and I'm happy with the results.

Just dive in!!!!!!!
