I was going to do a poll but this forum will not allow Me to.Do you need to be a gold member to start a poll ?Anyways-just wondering your thoughts on this as I am pulling my current motor to be replaced with a very stock looking 360. What color would you paint it and why?I'm leaning toward the chrylser blue for a real sleeper look although I have always liked the orange on the high perf. motors. The car is a '72 Dart Black ex/int.With this build the only thing in the engine compartment that will not look stock will be the headers. Essentially this will be a phantom car-as if the factory built a Dart with a 360.So let me know your thoughts or better yet post some pics of your stock appearing engines.:toothy7:Thanks!

I'm curious too- I'm going to stick a 360 in my '72 Duster for a year or so (or however long it takes me to get the 'real' motor for it) and I was wondering which color to use...

I went w/ orange on my 72, but blue is "correct" color.

Thanks for the replies I guess it's gonna come down to personal preference pretty sure I'm gonna go with blue.Again keeping with the "sleeper"look.
6pk2goDemon-love that car, I miss My '72 Demon !

About all the 360's were blue. I think back in the 80's was when they switched all the LA engines to black. I like to go orange because it gives it some "pop" under the hood.

I paint most of my engines gloss black. Great for a street engine, doesn't show oil & looks good with chrome.
I can't seem to find any of the original Hemi Race orange, the new stuff doesn't seem match the old stuff.
I think this color was oringinally Omaha Orange, but can't seem to find any locally.

This is what I used on my engine..

Yeah, blue is correct. But my 73 is orange. Just go with the color you want.
Blue if it's a 100% show car. I drive mine. Don't care what people say.

 Thx.....Yep, personal preference is key in making it yours. Blue is probably best for a sleeper.

On a side note, I'm pretty sure doing a poll is a separate forum and has nothing to do w/ gold membership. I've never posted one either ?

Tried to start a thread in the polls section, just got a pop-up stating I am not allowed start a poll. What's up with that? Anyways I'm supposed to pick up the new motor tomorrow.I hope the seller does not have second thoughts I'm getting a great deal on it! It's currently blue and it's a '72 casting. Thanks for the pics guys.

Well here it is, I went with blue if anybody cares.I will put My aluminum valve covers and accessories on .The stock V/C's are just on there while I was painting.

I agree completely. In your case especially......

I don't think the blue would have looked very good against the green.......
