I also noticed you were going to paint the bumper....don't you think it looks nice with the silver lip on the wheels...they go together so nicely. Maybe do a brushed chrome or nickel finish on the bumpers to match the wheels.

Also another opinion....I gotta get back to work on my wife's cuda so I have my own **** to critique. :D

Don't mean to rile you Tin.....it's your ride and it's beautiful.

No worries Mop, I'm always open to suggestions, especially from someone with a car as nice as yours. I've had a lot of time to think about what to do with the bumpers and since there is not going to be any chrome or stainless on the car anywhere ( except for the wheels ) I pretty much decided that they will either be black or body color, I'm leaning towards body color.

Hey Tin,
Nice looking shifter and e-brake, I have that same e-brake from speedway.
I was wondering something, did you make that mounting plate for the shifter, or did it come with the shifter. If you made it would you be interested in making one for me and my TCI shifter?

Yes that will look very nice as well....me and chrome..well we have a long time love affair. Sometimes she blinds me....Keep up the great work and I will wait till I can see clearly again before I make the comment. :glasses7:

Spent 8 hours making the rear bumper fit the way it should. I took 3/4" out of the width (3/8" per side ) then had to add 1" to the ends to make them fit the recess in the body, luckily I still had my original bumper to cut the ends off. It killed me to cut up a $400 rechrome bumper, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Tomorrow I'll fire up the tig and weld up all the seems.

That is going to look so nice when it is done. All the subtle little changes are great.

Very nice job...thats one of the mod's I plan on doing also, along with shaving the bumber bolts....that's would be rough to cut a rechromed bumper....but the end result will look great....again, very nice

Tin, the Dart's looking as sharp as ever! Can I come up and be your apprentice for a few months? Your craftsmanship is amazing, I am due back from the deployment in the near future, and I don't even know where to begin on my Demon's restoration, again it's looking amazing, I need someone with your skills and knowledge close by so I can learn a thing or two!

Sure, no problem......:burnout:

I can see just one problem with this thread....it's too interesting and I keep on reading instead of getting back into my shed to work on my 62!! Great build and a great thread, lots of information. This forum is so much better than the one I'm on here in Australia, but then again there is a few more of you in the US!

No, I'm not that bad, I bought the bumpers about 2 years ago and my build has since taken a different direction. I was originally planning more of a Resto-mod, but now it is pretty much Pro-Touring.:burnout:

I for one am digging your build...... :thumblef:

Put a little time in on the front bumper, I think it is going to turn out OK. Anyone want to guess what kind of car the bumper is from?
