Hi all

I hope some of you here have an engine in your backyard that you are not using, that can be sold separately as parts.

My '66 Dart is currently running a non-original carb - Solex from a Land Rover S2, and is running very rich (black smoke at the back)

Also, and more importantly, since this is a non-original carb, the kickdown linkage cant be connected! :(

Here are a couple of pictures:

As you can see from the 1st picture, the kickdown linkage is not connected to the carb. And the 2nd picture shows that the throttle turns clockwise to open and the kickdown linkage needs to go DOWN as the throttle is opened. So I cant just fabricate something out.

Hence, It would be great if anyonebcan help me out getting the original setup. (Dont have to be everything, even if you have the carb only, lemme know.) THANKS!

this where a cable actuated version like on the B body slant 6's may come in handy. that way you are not dealing with a hard linkage alignment issue. Yours would have used the twist version off peddle.
I have several of correct aircleaner tops.
I have some or all of the B linkage stuff. but I would like to see a real time photo of what we are dealing with.
PM me before I get digging up my basement to help arrange the parts. False fire drills dont make me happy.

Something like this?

I need the Rod (14-11-9) and the clip on top of it (14-25-12) as shown in the diagram above.

Oh, if you have a spare 1920 that you're not using would be even better! :)

thanks alot!

Yes that is the right picture. So are you saying you have the long cable, bracket and long kickdown rod already?

I have the kickdown long rod yes, and the bellcrank at the end of it. But I dont have the throttle cable (which will need to be a lot longer that the ones you have as the gas pedal is on the other side of the car being a RHD). Also I dont have the correct carb i.e. Holley 1920. Right now im running Solex from a Land Rover 2.2 ...

Thanks again.

here is a crude photo of the 1920 carb, 65 vintage, with the correct cable linkage. I have the link for it, and the aircleaner, as a reminder.
Question is can you rebuild it there, or is there a shop that can. Would you need a carb kit to go along with it. Or have it rebuilt here.

So basically you have the link (rod) 14-11-9 on the left of the picture, and the pin on top of it 14-25-12? (other than the Carb itself, and the aircleaner as you have mentioned)

Regarding a rebuilt carb, someone is selling a NOS (New) never been used 1920 for $195, and another guy wants $125 for a re-manufactured carb. (not including shipping). As far as carb rebuilt is concern, yeah there are plenty of carb workshop here, as long as i supply them with the kit.

Btw, being 5000 miles away, shipping for carb only is about $45. So if you were to sell me the whole setup, I think shipping will be close to $100 if not more.

How much do you want the whole package, minus the carb itself, and the throttle cable (which I cant use)?

Thanks A LOT for your help.
