For those who live near Fremont or Pleasanton, CA., here is a gas station which sells high octane gasoline. It is located off the same exit as the Sunol golf course (Andrade Rd off of 680). They have Torco 100 unleaded, 110 leaded and another leaded grade in between. I use the 100 unleaded, it was $5.80/gallon. Just pull up to the pump, pay and gas up. By comparison, Vic Hubbards was selling another brand of 100 unleaded race fuel for $60 for a 5 gallon container.

For you Maryland guys there is Valentin's Sunoco in Towson and Hobb's Sunoco off of North Point road. They both stock the full line of Sunoco/CAM2 fuels.

Did you notice how much the 110 leaded was selling for?

Not sure. I'll get those prices the next time I go there. They sell the leaded stuff by the 5 gallon container as well. But even the owner/manager there recommended bringing my own container to fill up from the pump because they would end up having to charge too much for the container stuff.

For the Akron/Canton/Massillon area guys we have two places that I know of to get race gas. The Marathon Station on SR 172 by Doctors Hospital ahs Turbo Blue 110 in the pump beside the garage for $6.40 a gallon. Beaver Petroleum on Waynesburg Rd carries Sunoco Race fuels and either has them in a 50 gallon drum on at the pump. I got Sunoco 104 the other day for $5.20 a gallon and I know they have 104, 110, 112 and 114 along with 98 and 100 in unleaded form for the o2 sensor guys.

What about the SoCal area? Anyone?

Hey Dave,
There is a station in Pasadena right where the 110 turns into Arroyo Parkway. Basically Arroyo Parkway and Glenarm.

Arroyo Parkway 76
155 E Glenarm St
Pasadena, CA 91105
(626) 441-3392

I will try to get over there again to see what their prices are. Last I saw, they had 100 octane "Racing Gas" for a little over $5.00 a gallon.

Thanks,

In the Western NY area you can go to just about any Delta Sonic location for the 100 octane Cam2 unleaded. Im not sure what the current price is, but its more than likely $5+/gallon.

Kinda hard to read, but Cam 2 is $7.49 for the 100... $7.99 for the 110. This station is located on Hempstead Ave. in Malvern just off the Southern State Pkwy. Exit #16 IIRC.

Glad my engine is only 10:1 :drunken:

There's a Sunoco station on East Main St. in Torrington, CT that sells 5 gallon cans of 110 Sunoco leaded for $55 a can ... I found the same gas in Burlington at Hollands Service station today for $7.50 a gallon, bringing your own containers.. $45, or $9 per gallon if you want the can ...

Does anyone see any harm in mixing this gas with regular pump gas for street use ?? I mixed it 1/2 and 1/2 and didn't seem to notice any power loss

For those on the San Francisco Peninsula, they are pumping 100 octane at Kings Union 76 station at 975 Woodside Rd. in Redwood City for $5.39/gallon. Submitted 11/8/07.

There are probably 100 Rebel stations here in Vegas that have 100 octane pump gas... there are 2 within 5 minutes of my house!
Am I going to notice any difference with the 100 in my 225 - 6?

There are only 2 Torco grades available

100 unleaded, $5.69/gal

110 leaded, $5.94/gal

In west Michigan US131, D-ave exit just south of US131 Dragway both the Citgo station on the west side and BP station on the east side of the exit sell 110 octane. BP's is Torco brand and Citgo's I'm not sure. Last I fueled up it was $4.59/gallon.

One tip: If you find yourself there, use the BP station. You can park in the gravel drive 5ft from the pump and your not on BP property. You can walk across the grass, fill your cans, then dump them into you car since your car's not on BP property and your not fueling your car at their station which is unlawful. Just dont let the cops see you or you may get busted...

I southern maryland the Citgo in Glasva, MD (just a few miles north of the route 301 bridge over the Potomac river ) sells Cam-2. When I bought some there during the summer they were at $6.75 for 110 octane. That was about a dollar per gallon more than I pay at the track (MIR) for Torco 110 octane, so I only hit this station on my way to Colonial Beach Raceway in virginia.

Used to work for an aircraft outfit. Most of the FBOs on our field would sell us gas in our gas cans. We would do this when we suspected contaminated fuel. (Fuel usually contaminated by condensation that occured when the wing tanks would heat and cool daily when moored on the ramp.)
The hottest AV gas these days is about 135 research and only required by high performance WWII vintage aircraft. If you're wired in with a warbird, this would be great stuff for a racing engine. I'd be very surprised to find it at a field with no vintage aircraft based there.
Most recips use 100LL (low lead) which can be used in a car. Price on this stuff here at the Edge of the World goes from $4.58 to $7.83 a gallon. The lower price is at the smaller airports. The high priced stuff is at the fancy schmancy FBOs on big fields. It's the same Shell or BP at both places.
Because no road tax is on AVGAS, they are prohibit to fuel a car with it. Since an aircraft owner can fuel his own plane, there's nothing to keep you from walking off with a bunch of fuel cans full of this stuff. The seller may require you furnish a "tail number". This may not be the most kosher way to get high octane, but it is a source.

Then I don't know why you need a license (according to the newspaper) to get the high octane stuff at Sears Point. Thank you very much. It's worth the drive. I wasn't getting to Sunol but once a decade.

Also the Rebel Bulk Station at I-15 and Sarhara sell Leaded 110 for $6.30 a gallon the last time i was there a couple of weeks ago...even take credit/debit card...pump into can..

VP Racing fuel station on Euclid Av just north of the 60 FWY in Ont. Ca.

...anyone know where in New hampshire I can get some high octane fuel..?
