1200.00 is cheap but if qtr's are bad I can imagine what else it will need for body work and rust repair.

Same price as mine when I bought it... However that one is better looking.

its the same guy from CL.....i think he chickened out and decided he wanted more money bcoz the other morning he had it then didnt and then did again.....plus the aution says he had it for 4 years.....not that he bought it last week.

Rani, you missed the rest of the story.

"I sold car to a local kid who drove it through high school. I saw it was for sale the other day and bought it back."

He's also got it back up on craigslist for $2000

I sent him a reply, telling him that his car is not a Dart 273, but a Dart 270, and that a 273 is a smallblock V8, and that his car is a 225cu Slant6.
Also told him that I saw it for sale for $1200 a couple days ago, so that if he gets the $2000 then thats $800 in his pocket, and thats not a loss. (his ad says wife wont let him keep it so his loss is my gain)

To bad someone who actually wanted it to fix up didnt get it for that price. Just went to another flipper/flopper.

It will be interesting to see if he replies.

figures, he probably got so many calls that he thought he was giving it away . that car is about 40 miles from me.

His reply below:

"Thanks scott I'm not really selling it .I just put it on craigslist and eBay to make the wife think I was.that's why I priced it so high. Then I just show her see I tried to sell it but no one wants it. 30 years of marriage experience"

It might backfire on him, someone may step up and pay the money. Better not let wife see how high bid gets she may sell it on him.

I hope for his sake it doesn't...of course I can't see the whole picture, but if all it needs are some qtr patches, and trunk extensions, then he's not far away from a complete car. Interior needs work, but doesn't look that bad...I drove mine on worse seats for over two years.

$1425 and the reserve is off with 6h 48m 29s left on the auction.

So much for "not really selling it".

I personally don't care if he bought it to flip it, but the lies I can't handle. That should have gone to somebody who really wanted a project.

Auction over and I happen to know from a reliable source that its going to a FABO member to be restored :burnout:

Seller profited over a grand before fees on it over the original Craigslist ad. You never know how much less than $1200 he may have bought it for. Glad to hear a FABO member got it but it is a shame that he didn't get when if first appeared on Craigslist.

I know what you mean, someone profited big time on it but sometimes thats the game. I am the high bidder and its going to be a gift to Ranidart70 she is already working on a 69 so now she has a 68 to match. I am her cousin and I know she will do something with it thats why I didnt mind putting up the money, plus we are not flippers so hopefully it will be in the family now for many years to come. There will probably be a build thread for it soon enough
