Aw! Now look what you did! I got drool all over my keyboard! I hope you're happy!

Wish you well with the sale. That's one drop-dead gorgeous Demon!

Mike

Not bad, but for the price it's lacking some detail. I wish it were a little LESS expensive and a little MORE correct.

Nice car. Not stock optioned, but none the less, nice.

gd was just saying the same as I was reading ad. For that money I would expect matching numbers drivetrain and they seem to emphasize that it has matching numbers 4spd! I got lucky with mine and do have matching numbers for less than half the price. I want to drive mine and not just stare at it.

Lots of strategic restoration shortcuts and inconsistencies for a near top dollar 70-71 340 4spd car. Also lack of original motor and buildsheet for a Hamtramck car dings the value some.

They sprayed the undercarriage but left the torsion bars in? So how well did they prep the undercarriage surface for paint. How long before it starts to flake.

Sort of looks like the trunk wire and underchassis lines were still on the car and got overspray on them when they painted. Some trunk body plugs are painted over too, and some are not.

Also has a 1972 snorkel hood and graphics. Cool hood, but when you are bragging about all the other original stuff to the car, the wrong year hood doesn't jive.

The bucket seats and rear wing are 1970 style. It might be an early production car and got those items.

Those are NOT original interior door panels. Those are the older Legendary panels that do not have enough cut out in them to accept the door panel clips. That is why you see a series of bulges in bottom and sides of the door panels. Later panels corrected this, and originals do not have this issue.

Those are all just some indications of bigger underlaying issues. Might be a solid car otherwise, or maybe not. Certainly a car that should be inspected in person before purchase.

busted!

If this 71 Demon originally came with dual mirrors, would it have came with dual racing style mirrors? Coincidentally, those are more expensive to buy repro than the manual style mirrors on the car now.

Car has 6x9 speaker cut in rear package tray hiding in the back of one of the pictures.

Also someone added a radio bezel to cover up a rallye dash fascia that was cut for an aftermarket stereo.

Car should have viscous fan/clutch assy and a fan shroud (expensive used). Car now has flex fan.

So we all agree for 31K everything should be correct.

Nice car ,but in the add its says TTI headers (they are not)TTI'S do not hang that
low. That car needs the original exhaust put in.
Just my thoughts but it is a very nice car.

Headers say Hooker right on them.

If this broker can't communicate what's spelled out right in front of him, what else can't he communicate?

Another one with the stripes on wrong. Sides are to low they never extended onto the wheel opening flare. And Tail not the correct spacing from the tailights top and bottom also missing the background under the emblem. .

Whenever I see body color through the grilles I have to wonder what else isn't quite right. I wont keep looking for more little things to nit-pick though. I'm not a interested buyer anyway.

This is an expensive car for not being correct. I am wanting a Demon for my next car but some things seem really wrong to me and perhaps some of you Demon people here car point out some things I see that are not right other than the stuff already posted. 1, This car should have the dual racing mirrors and clearly has repop manual dual mirrors on it now. Easy fix but where is the hole on the drivers door for the adjuting knob?? If it had rallye mirrors wouldnt there be a 5/8 inch hole by the Demon badge?? 2, why alot of peole do this (and this car also has met the same fate) does it have a 72 scoop when it should have the ramcahrger scoops? They did not even put the boots around the two fresh air holes. 3, why does this car have a bumper jack, (poorly painted wrong) for a notched bumper when the bumpers have no jack notches? 4, there is some crappy bodywork by the left rear bumper corner and it appears that the bumper does not have the same contour as the recess area just in front of the bumper side. Is this right? 5, and lastly as I dont want to shred up what is a nice looking car and someone did pour a bunch of money into it and make it a nice looking car and all but if this car came with bucket seats why are the bench seat track holes there without any kind of plugs and why is there no reinforcement plates by the bolts for the bucket seat tracks? I have about several dozen other things I would question in short, hose clamps, decal placement, door panels, broken door lock button, cheap looking trunk seal, spoeakers and radio bezel cutout, whrong wing, some extra small holes on the inner fenders, and wrong color caps on the rallye wheels. I guess for 30K or better I would have a list a mile long and pull out the fine tooth comb before I even thought about handing out cash. I would want to see the resto pics, build sheet, and what oem parts were replaced. After all that if I was going to spend money on this car my big concern would be non numbers matching and not 100% original. Seems this car would be more along the lines of a resto mod. Instead of trying to make it look correct add a bunch of chrome etc, drop the price a bit and sell it. Is this car worth the bucks??

Yes,there are a few things i would change. But,Nit Pick all you want, that's a nice car.
30k nice...Only time will tell. Hopefully he gets it. That's the kind of car that some wealthy individual
will add to their collection. Or somebody that wants to buy a turn key hot rod, without rolling
their sleeves up.

JD, I am not really picking, just looking at stuff that appears to be wrong for a code car and wondering what they started out with in the first place. Truly this is not for a person who wants a correct car to show off but a car to cruise and like you said not have to roll sleeves up. Its a nice looking car and alot of bucks went into it. Someone is going to get a nice car!!

Shouldn't this be in the general discussion area if we're gonna pick on it?

Personal pet peeve: "Professional Restoration" with nasty original wiring.

I won't go into the "correct 340/275hp" engine. I want that factory single plane and double pumper for my Valiant restoration.

Not nit pic ,but truth for other people to see what is "off".
I would love to own that car. If I were to buy that, I would like
a thread like this here of others people's 2 cents to have a better
understanding before paying a large amount of money.
There are things there that are mentioned that I did not see thanks to
this post.
Again that is a beautiful car.

Dang skippy Darryl. It's looks to be a nice car. It's just like others are saying though, for the money, it could be a little tighter. I honestly would love to have a ride like that.
