your right I did ask, hence the poll. If your not a fan, that's cool. But keep your thoughts to your self next time and move on to the next thread .....

Then don't ask next time.

That's good.. Mustaine,certifiably crazy. Lars ,just a D:ickhead.

This thread prompted me to Play the MOP album tonight in the garage. It has been years since and I have totally forgot how incredible "Orion" is. Very early Maiden-ish.

I was ready ,to post Iron Maiden, on a differing post. How ironic.

Nice, see what you've been missing ! That album is good from beginning to end ...

I always thought Orion could be a movie soundtrack.

I miss the orchestrated but not orchestral metal.

RE: Megadeth. I agree an almost all points.

Very cool and technically complex material, but a bit more difficult to digest.

Metallica has riffs almost anyone can learn, but some are quite difficult to master.

Not so Megadeth.

Metallica Salutes Peter, Paul, and Mary. Featuring "Puff The Magic Dragon", "Blowing in the Wind", and "Leaving on a Jet Plane".

Metallica does: "The best of Frank Sinatra".

For my

And justice for all, kill em all and Master of Puppets.

"Black Album". Was that their tribute to Motown?

"Metallica featuring The Ernest and the Texas Troubadour Zombie band."

My first concert was the Master tour about 3 months before they "broke out". They were touring with Twisted Sister and put on an incredible performace in Glens Falls NY. I think that might have been the last band they opened for as well. Over the years the music has matured and evolved. Are they the same speed metal band they were on the Kill the all or Lightning albums? No, but they are still putting out great albums. Although I voted for the Master album, I have to say that to date.....and I know I am about to piss off most hardcore fans.....S&m was their best album. The mixture of Metallica music, both older/harder stuff and newer "ballad" type stuff, mixes fantastically with the full orchestra.

That being said....would I have said the same thing about S&m at 20 that I now say at 46....probably not :)
