So when I bought my car, the TTi's were already there and they had the infamous ceramic coating rusting problems that I've seen other members were having. So since I had the motor out, I was going to get mine redone. I wasn't sure what company to go with but I decided to go with Jet Hot in Oklahoma City. Sales rep (Dan) says it would be $310 and their coating will have a 100% lifetime warranty no matter who owns the headers after me. And they will coat the inside of the headers as well. So that sounded like a good product to me and I was going to be in the city anyway so I went and dropped them off. Dan looks at them and says "we did these headers". Asking him to elaborate, he said their company (not specifically in okc) had coated all of TTi's headers. There had been some shifting around with company ownership and at one point, he said the quality of the coating was not good which is why these rusted. But then he dropped a bomb on me and said "These are under warranty. We'll get these done for you and you won't owe us a thing". I couldn't believe it! Since their coatings are lifetime warrantied, they went ahead and honored it, even though I was not the original purchaser of the headers. And I didn't even have to ask! He could not have said a word and I would have been none the wiser and paid for it. But they seemed to be honest people and I was extremely pleased. I think they just earned a lifetime customer! So if any of you guys have the problem and TTi won't warranty them, give Jet Hot a ring. Cheers!

Very good info to know! Thanks for the heads up. Mine are starting to show some signs of rust.

What's with the company in LA that is doing them?

I think more than one group has coated headers for tti over time. Might have to investigate who did the coating.

Had a set of pro parts headers done by jet hot years ago. Had inside and out done. Rusted like any other coated header. They had stopped the lifetime warranty at the time too.

This is just about the most outstanding thing I've read in a very long time

Yeah it sounds like it could have been around the time when Dan said the quality wasn't too good. I really hope that they've worked everything out and the coating is as good as he claims. Well all know too well what a PITA the headers are to get in and out. Time will tell.

one of the big problems is running the headers on a new engine... during cam break in they can run a couple hundred degrees hotter than after the cam is broken in... also supercharging/nos will heat them up real good also.

really, to be honest no header will last as long as the big heavy cast iron exhaust manifold. if you consider them a maintenance item like plugs, filters, etc it's not so bad. the only problem is they cost a heck of a lot for the lifespan. like 7 years average for a $700 item. $100 bucks a year, as much as oil changes maybe.

so your best bet is to just use old headers or exhaust manifolds for engine break-in. dont throw old headers away, they have a use :D

Had a bike header coated by Jet Hot in AZ, had zero issues with the coating....

Headers are done. My MIL picked them up and she sent a pic to get a sneak peak of them. They look 10,000 times better in the pic. They used to bug my wife real bad so now she can be relieved that they are new again (for now).

I can't hardly wait to get everything back together and see a nice set of headers back on the car!

Ceramic coating is supposed to be shiny? Mune look like the ones in the first pic may try to see if they will re coat them.
Thanks for the heads up Clint

Yes it is shiny when they are put through the polishing process. Otherwise they probably wouldn't be shiny like that.

Really!?!? My wife is bugged that I like old cars. She is bugged that they smell bad. She won't ride in my Duster because it make her hair stink, LOL. She does not know what headers are, much less being bugged because they don't look up to par.

HAHAA! You would think most women would be like that. For some reason, those headers drove my wife crazy.

Had my mother in law deliver the headers back from Oklahoma when she came to visit. They look REALLY nice. They are definitely coated inside and out. One thing that I missed was a small dent on the #7 cylinder pipe where it turns down out of the head. I completely forgot about it, but it's not that bad. Still the headers look leaps and bounds better than they did. Even my wife is super happy that she doesn't have to look at the old rusty headers anymore! I still don't know why that one thing bothered her so much. In her words, " You have this nice looking motor and then you have those crappy rusty looking headers on it. It drives me nuts!" LOL. Here's a phone camera pic.

So would a guy be better off buying the headers bare and sending them off somewhere to get coated?

I don't know that you'd be better off but I think you'd be paying a lot more in the end. But if you bought the headers bare and had Jet Hot do them, you'll never pay for the coating again.

Buying the headers uncoated is only good if you don't like the chrome looking ceramic. I bought mine used for 400 and it cost me 300 to have them coated satin ceramic. So it basically cost the same price as new TTI headers.

my headers are 10 years old and dont have any rust.

Same here. TTI ceramic coated inside n out. I lay several sheets of plastic on the garage floor during the winter months to eliminate moisture from the concrete. This is mentioned with the TTI paraphanalia. A good polishing w/mothers mag wheel polish 2x a year as well.
