Hello. Thought I would post some pictures of my 69 Barracuda project. I purchased this car from a FABO member back in October. Finally drove it back and forth to work some in November and because of the nice weather here in Indiana, I'm still working on while driving her around. It has the original fender tag, that has been chromed (can't say I've ever seen that before) and the original window sticker. Still hunting the broadcast sheet. I've temporarily given up on that. I've done some disassembly looking, but am down to the headliner, carpet and rear back section of the fold down seat. These areas do not need replacing at this time soooo. Car is all #'s matching. I've replaced quite a few parts on the car to get it roadworthy. It had been on jack stands for quite some time. Still have cosmetic work to do on her but I'm sure the cold, crummy weather is just around the corner. We did get 5" of wet snow Saturday before Thanksgiving when some of these pictures were taken. Needless to say, wasn't driving it in that stuff.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Thanks. This one has factory front and rear sway bars. Pretty loaded fender tag. Has 5 package codes. A04, A06, A53, A62, A86. Power front drums and power steering.

Interesting, I have never heard of a rear sway bar option for the 69. Never know with Ma Mopar.

Nice 69, I recently sold my 383-s to a fellow in Florida. It was a B5 blue, four speed, fast ratio steering car. Had it for 25 years.

Nice car.
It doesn't look like it needs much to me........

It needs a repaint, clutch package and a driver front lower seat cover. It does still have it's original paint in the trunk & under hood. I think the door jams were redone though. Original redline spare. Waiting on a material sample from Legendary for the seat issue. This car has the factory sun flower yellow interior. I've never ran across a yellow interior Mopar over the years. Not sure if the seat covers have ever been redone or not. When I was digging under the back seat for the broadcast sheet it appeared that all the factory burlap was there and in great shape. If the new matches, I may just change the driver bottom and leave the rest. It cleaned up very well.

Also just got in a Mcleod clutch package from Wayne at Brewer's Performance. Car will just chirp the tires and shutter when dumping the clutch right now. Otherwise it's very drivable and you really can't tell anything is wrong. Previous owner said he did smoke the clutch at some point in the past before putting it on stands.

It still has it's original 3.23 SG gears.

SWEET nice barracuda. Welcome from another 69 383 4spd barracuda owner

Very nice....I am in Canada, I brought back (up to Canada) from the US a 69 barracuda 383-S 4 speed! Love the car, yours look fantastic. Mine has unusual options as well for such a car. Y4 gold, Black guts with console 4 speed, deluxe seats, pedal dress up, wood grain wheel and dash. Tach, fender turn signals, light package and a real odd one AF/FM thumbwheel radio all on the fender tag. But no power steering, or brakes and drums all round..interesting! Your car looks great, good luck with the build, nice to see another 69 383-S being done up!

Thanks to all !! I've mainly had/restored E and B body cars the last 40 years. Never thought I could come up with an A body big block fastback, which has been on my bucket list for a long time.

Finally got all the gages/lights working. Just got the factory tach operational today.

here's the 69 OEM paint chart for 69 barracudas and valiants... your cuda is (i believe) sunflower yellow.

I believe this is the car that's supposed to have a black 383 sport stripe!!!! V6X on the fender tag? That stripe will make the car look so much different it crazy!

Yes Dave it is supposed to have that V6X stripe. I wanted to look at some other Fastbacks painted that color to see if I like the stripe or not. I think it looks good on some colors and not so much on others.

It's actually SunFire as indicated on the chart. By description, SunFire would seem to me to be a bright color but that's not the case.

My original 71 Curious Yellow Cuda is very bright yellow.

Just saying....the black 383 stripe would look KILLER on Y2 car. Will totally change the look of the car for the BETTER. Here's my Y2 notch with plain(no number) black sport stripe. This is a 21k mile original paint and stripe car!!!
