318 camshaft

hi i´m building a new 318 for my 66 dart gt.
i´m looking for a better camshaft. i want choppy idle and great performace.
my engine setup is 318 original bore, flat top pistons, edelbrock performer intake ported 302 heads with stock valve, edelbrock performance 600 carb, 340 hp exhaust manifolds, 2,5" dual exhaust system home made, stock 904 tranny, 8 3/4 rear end with 3,55 gearing and 235/60-15 rear tires 205/60-15 front tires. mopar electronic distributer with orange box.
anyone who knows a great performance can with choppy idle who fits my car?

Why do you want a choppy idle, and how much are you willing to give up to have it?

I ran the MP .474/280 cam in a couple of stock block 318's. One had stock 318 heads and the other had home ported 360 heads. They both actually did well, and have a lumpy idle. Just so you know, this isn't the best cam for low end torque in your 318.

How much lift at the valves can your heads take? What stall converter do you have now?

i have 2000 rpm stall now. and my heads are done for 500 lift. i have locked at comp cams 279 th7 my brother had a 279 cam in his camaro earlier and he was happy with it. any one tested that cam on a 318?

I have the Hughes Whiplash 318 cam, lifters and springs (yes - do all 3)
I'm pretty happy with it
