Just Curious my fellow Canadians..... What do you think that those engine combos in your Dart will run in a 1/4 if you could get traction? Thanks

If suspension set optimally for drag racing and with good traction I think it should do low 11's at around 120 MPH.
 
I like it. i like it ... unfortunately here in Michigan .... low 11's on Woodward will not get you far ... i need to get in the 10.50 's bracket ... I too want to maintain the STOCK appearing look and you sure did capture it !

Yes the bar for street machines has definitely been raised to crazy standards. I also do feel the line between street and race cars have blurred quite substantially. While everyone has a different view about what is streetable I feel it is a car that can be driven thousands of trouble free miles without need for teardown afterwards. To me many of the cars in power tour are "race cars driven down the road" not real street cars. I hope I haven't kicked a hornets nest here. Lol. Of course power adders like turbos and superchargers add a whole other dimension to the equation. With a little more compression and a solid roller I truly believe I could have had 625-640 hp, but reliability and drivability would have suffered. I am taking this car 2000 km plus on a single trip this summer. I can't wait.
 
Another Canadian......I am wondering what you used for your crank pulley with the ATI dampner. We have similar projects but mine is a '70. My 340/416 made 560hp/530tq.
What cam, rocker, carb and compression?

Thanks for the compliments, I tried very hard to maintain stock appearance.
 
Exactl 1 331 ford stroker turbo and another 331 supercharged... both with eddies ... with stock 302 blocks ...
Turbo 10:12 and supercharger mid 10's... and good mannered on the street ....

What is the advertised lift/duration on the cam? Are you using the retro fit roller lifters from Hughes?
I'm restoring my Demon I've owned since '83 and really want to build an engine like you have.

Here is the cam card, was a custom grind. The narrow LSA is to compensate for our elevation here of 3000 feet. Rear suspension is cal trac split leaf monos and bars. Front suspension just getting complete rebuild also. 1.03 bars, offset upper bushings, adjustable strut rods, boxed LCA and K frame. Bilstein shocks all corners. Flaming river fast ratio manual box.

I used a factory 89 roller cam block. Lifters are stock replacement factory. Everyone I spoke with said these are more than up to task. No worries about failing link bars and spinning lifters. Lifters held by factory spider plate.
 
Now you having me thinking about getting a magnum engine??
The 360 I have now needs a complete rebuild so I might as well go with a magnum?
It may save $$ in the long run.
So I'd probably end up calling Hughed to tell them what I'm looking to do, where I live etc.

Cheap cores and plenty strong. Only draw back is you have To Oil through the heads or drill for It.
 
I used an 89 LA roller block. These were available from 88-91 pre magnum. Then you don't have to worry about the magnum oiling issues. Don't have magnum mount bosses either. Apparently early magnum blocks had he oil feeds open to the heads also, I've not seen one thought.

I used them with a .585 lift roller
 
your using a rack on the stock k frame
Stock k frame notched for pan, reinforced with plates from firm feel. Fast ratio manual sterling box. Boxed lower control arms, ssbc disc brakes, 1.03 t bars, Bilstein shocks, delrin LCA bushings with new pivot pins, adjustable strut rods, moog offset uca bushings, all new ball joints and bushings, Hellwig tubular sway bar. Pretty much an upgraded stock set up. I'm looking forward to it, I've only driven it as the stock tired 47 year old 4 wheel drum set up.
 
With stock heads, roller lifters and pistons?
Factory heads, drilled push rod holes to 9/16 ovaled at top and bottom, 5/16 push rods , kb373 pistons if I'm remembering the part number right. Same 88 roller block and mp replacement hyd roller lifters with the spider and all. The heads go into the 250's cfm without needing to open the pinch up.
 
Wow! Cool man. I had to clearance the pushrod holes as well (drilled larger & ovaled) on my Edelbrock heads to fit the Hyd roller pushrods. Same set up. OE roller lifters, spider, on a Comp Cam.
 
I'm curious what you ran for valve springs and why such low C.R. .? Is it due to the iron heads and chamber design ? I assumed one could run close to 9.9 safely. Especially at 3000 ft.

Compression is 10.1:1, cam card is a photo in the thread that does not require opening. I am not sure why you can't see it. With the small closed chamber and dished piston I likely could have gone 10.5:1 safely but did not want to risk it with our crap fuel up here in Canada. The most we can get in my part of the country is 94 octane.
 
I thought the initial post said 9.2 and I started to panic because I just ordered a Scat forged kit that will put me around 10:1.... I think I will run the Indy Xs from IMM instead of W2s though...I just can't bring myself to cough up the $ for W2 stuff again....and I will go solid roller with a grind close to yours.

Glad to se Canada kicking butt in NHL again !
