Awesome A-body air dam for under $30!

I'm keeping the 3.23same that are in there right now, but he's installing a cone style sure grip and new bearings, as well as longer studs

I've been meaning to get that suregrip installed, and when the brand X had to go in for some stupid repairs (I repacked an oil pressure sensor and the NEW One snapped in half while installing it) I found the perfect excuse to get the duster in

If that Sure Grip comes in under budget I may also have him install the 3/8 fuel sending unit and new lines

Has anyone installed the air dam I originally posted? I'd love to see picks if you have!

I found an OEM part from a different vehicle that fits on my '69 GTS like a glove. I bought the part new on-line for only $28 shipped.

Here it is test fitted on my car. There isn't any mounting hardware attached yet but you can see from the pics how easy it will be to get it fully mounted.

I'm sure that if it fits on my GTS it will fit on many other A bodies too.

It is the OEM air dam from a 1991 Ford Ranger Compact pick-up truck. The actual part is only $21 plus shipping. Here is a link to get one...

Replace® FO1092161 - Front Bumper Valance

Thanks for the heads up and link. Got mine today. It looks great on my 73 Dart, does not tuck as nice as yours on the sides. But it improves the look and should help keep the engine bay cooler at speed as there will be a suction effect now. Before all I had was the bumper up front. But may reduce a direct flow to the rad, but the whole bumper itself creates a blockage to direct airflow. To me it's a win-win!

Thanks,
Marion

I took this one off the `90 Dakota I parted out.

I would also like to see that. I have a 74 that I am thinking of doing this to.

All,

It could use a bit of 303 Protectant to richen up the color. But it is a big improvement. Now what can be done with the Grill?

74Dart,

Yes. The Air Dam has nut plates and comes with SS fasteners. I used some washers and placed the airdam on the back of the bumper to sandwich it. The bumper and the airdam have a center hole position. So that was drop in. I used the airdam as a template for the rest. On the side 1 sheetmetal screw. Very sturdy. Definitely wakes up the front end!

Looks like this air dam has a pretty universal application for A-bodies...cool!

I guess I never put my picture up. I should take another one with the hood on...
