I acquired an early 318 engine with the water pump outlet on the driver's side and a points distributor. Having a difficult time finding accessory brackets (ac,alt,ps). Also would like a recommendation on what to use to convert a points distributor to a mopar electronic ignition conversion. Thanks

Got pics of the needed brackets have some 318 ones from a 87 w150 no idea what they are for. Dist conversion is really easy, harness, ECU and a dizzy. Just make sure the dizzy has a curve the same or close to what is in there now. I have the specs if needed.

Look at a truck/Ramcharger enging for parts, I do believe the water pumps are the same, 318/360

Didnt know there was a water pump that had an inlet that points left. Would make fitting a rad i like (cheap and all aluminum)much easier. But it might create issues with other things.

thanks, now I have a choice between the new electronic distributor or converting to the protronix. what are the pros and cons?

Would the water pump outlet be on the left hand side. The specks on curve would help; can you send some photos of the brackets ?

A lot of people have done well with the Pertronix. I went with the electronic conversion. I think the Pertronix might be easier and cost less (in the end). I can sure take apart a distributor with a quickness now.

Left meaning passenger side? By proper definition left is the driver side. Everything is referenced from the driver's seat. Let's see how many red flags this answer gets. Let the games begin.

That's why the Left hand studs are on the right also!

Small blocks have a drivers side and a passenger side inlet for water pumps. I believe 69 back is drivers side and 70 up is passenger side. Both will bolt to any small block, however if you have a 70 up motor and run a 69 or older pump the inlet hides the timing marks. You can barely see them or just make your own on the passenger side. I know 1968 318 came with a bolt on timing tab that you can bolt on newer motors and use. You have to use timing tape and remark to balancer.

This is a 360 with a 1968 pump.

Yes, my engine looks very similar; water pump on driver's side even is red in color. Hose fittings on the intake are similar but have a 2 bbl which will be replaced. Question, where can I find mounting brackets for a/c, p/s and alt?

Beware swapping water pumps from early late style.
Everything around them is different.
The early pump is shorter, so none of the pulleys, brackets or accessories will interchange.

Looked at the engine today and marking on the block are as follows, passenger side casting 2.17.67 D^ M
block driver's side front 318 6-6
intake manifold 2-7 67. any idea.

I'm in the process of sorting my brackets and do believe I have extra of the power steering pump (still attached to the pump) and alternator, I'll check later today and let you know.

I have a bunch of brackets from a 87 318 need pics of what you need.

I have these, alternator and power steering off an early 70's 318, don't have anything for air and don't know if it alters these brackets.

Just bought another drivers inlet water pump from advance auto. $55 new pump.

I an interested in those brackets if they are from an engine with the water pump inlet on the driver's side.
