Its those kind of sales that make me wonder what my '69 GTS might be worth...

Nice Dart!

Did you add the braces from the firewall to fenders?

My '69 Dart doesn't have them but my 75 Valiant did.

The Airtemp decal looks original.

Is the decal trimmed around the oval outline or is it square shaped decal?

I've seen both styles, and the NOS one I bought is square. I guess different suppliers.

Wow Beautiful Car.!
Thanks! I’ve spent a lot of time and effort making her nice. She is mostly original and has been garage kept since new. Only 72k miles and the vinyl top and carpets are factory original. She is really a survivor that has been partially restored here and there during her life but all the sheet metal is original and she even has the factory undercoating still in place. I’ve also made a few upgrades along the way.

Yep. I added them. They really make a difference in handling keeping the front clip tight.

Here is a pic of the air temp decal I just took. Sorry for the dust, the car has been in the garage since November and is a bit dirty.

Gotta say..I've always been an early A guy but your car makes me seriously rethink that.
I can understand that, I also have a ‘66 GT that I’m putting together. This one isn’t quite as original looking as the ‘69...

We need to get together and see if a duplicate can be made. I need a parts one for my Swinger.

Not a show..It's an Auction.Biggest share of the bidders don't consider it a waste of money...It's an investment.
It absolutely is a show. Have your been to one of these? The lights, the sounds, the music, TV crews everywhere. If it wasn’t a show and just an auction.... there would be a stage and auctioneer. Just like a cattle auction. They are entertaining and an auction. Lot of trophy wives and insecure men grabbing the glory of overpaying for a car to prove their monetary worthiness. I love Barrett and Mecum. It’s just not always the smartest place to buy a car. The real serious collectors buy offline.... I know this.

Figure this, None of the cars at BJ will likely bring that kind of $ anywhere again, ever... EXCEPT at BJ ....if, the market stays constant or rises! Then they still have the cost of consigning, cat. fee, commission, seller premium.. then hope they give your Mopar a decent place in the auction. It is a Mopar not GM or Ford right!?
These high sellers pull up the price of any old car, mainly projects priced on CL and other stupid venues. Best thing that can happen at BJ is for Mopars to be selling DOWN, way down, and they say so. Unless you want to sell your restored car, and to get those prices you better take it to BBJ is a lot of stupid priced piss poor restored examples,..... ( notice any close up shots?? Ha
Most of us on here are true hobbiest. We are restorers of our loved old cars, collectors of projects, parts, memorabilia, junk, any and all related.......some of us can afford to write bigger checks than others, and that's fine with me as along as the passion is there, and not investment $ signs in the eye. If these guys buying $60,000 care at BJ are tru lover of the hobby, then more power to them. I just remember how many people have flocked to put together crap cars to unload at BJ to drunk millionaires there in years past!???/
Rant over. Gve em hell.

It’s good for upping our values, bad as a purchaser. But that’s the way it goes. I have been a part of several 7 figure broker deals with foreign vintage cars... and those guys prefer to buy away from an auction. I’m beginning to like Mecum better. They seem to have more reasonable priced driver cars.

Cars are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY over-priced at Barrett Jackson..seen much better deals on as nice cars at Mecum..$75k for a green car:eek::eek::eek:.must have been drunk when they were bidding:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
